The grizzly, a very territorial animal, especially when with cubs, attacked. \u201cThe bear attacked and killed him,\u201d stated Al Nash, a spokesman for the park.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Nearby hikers dialed 911, but it was too late. The park rangers arrived to find the dead body and the grief stricken wife. Nash continued to say that the \u201csow grizzly was protecting her cubs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The park does have warning signs and have stated that human encounters with bear are very rare.
