He was 79.<\/p>\n<p>The actor got his start by acting in small roles on TV shows like \u201cGunsmoke\u201d, \u201cHappy Days\u201d, \u201cThe Doris Day Show\u201d, \u201cThe Partridge Family\u201d, \u201cLittle House on the Prairie\u201d and \u201cM*A*S*H\u201d.<br \/>\nHis big break came when he was cast as Cletus Hogg in \u201cThe Dukes of Hazzard\u201d, appearing in 55 episodes from 1980 to 1985. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Rick Hurst was born on 1 January, 1946 in Houston, Texas.<\/p>\n<p>He is survived by his first wife Candace and two sons, Ryan and Collin.<\/p>\n<p>Ringside Report sends their condolences tot he Hurst Family in their time of grief.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;
