He was 93.<\/p>\n<p>His best known work is the \u201cMission Impossible\u201d theme which was not only used for the show but also for the eight movies with Tom Cruise.<\/p>\n<p>The theme earned him two Grammy Awards and three Awards.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Other TV themes he composed were \u201cMannix\u201d, \u201cMedical Center\u201d, \u201cStarsky &amp; Hutch\u201d, \u201cMost Wanted\u201d and \u201cPetrocelli\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>He was nominated six times for an Oscar: score nominations for \u201cCool Hand Luke\u201d, \u201cThe Fox\u201d, \u201cVoyage of the Damned\u201d, \u201cThe Amityville Horror\u201d and \u201cThe Sting\u201d, plus a song nomination for \u201cThe Competition\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>He also composed the scores for eight Clint Eastwood movies.<\/p>\n<p>He became only the third composer ever to receive an honorary Oscar in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Lalo Schifrin was born on 21 June, 1932 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.<\/p>\n<p>Ringside Report sends their condolences tot he Schifrin Family in their time of grief.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;
