He was 73.<\/p>\n<p>He made his big screen debut in 1983 in the movie \u201cRunning Brave\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Greene\u2019s big breakthrough came when Kevin Costner cast him as Kicking Bird (Zi\u014btk\u00e1 Nagw\u00e1ka) in his 1990 Western \u201cDances with Wolves\u201d. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The movie received 12 Academy Award nominations \u2014 including one for Greene as Best Supporting Actor \u2014 and won seven, including Best Picture.<\/p>\n<p>It launched Greene\u2019s Hollywood career.<\/p>\n<p>He went on to appear in movies like \u201cMaverick\u201d, \u201cDie Hard with a Vengeance\u201d, \u201cThe Green Mile\u201d, \u201cThunderheart\u201d, \u201cTransamerica\u201d and one of my favorite movies \u201cWind River\u201d with Jeremy Renner.<\/p>\n<p>Graham Greene was born on June 22, 1952 in Ohsweken, on the Six Nations Reserve.<\/p>\n<p>He worked till the end and has one upcoming movie in the can: \u201cIce Fall\u201d starring Joel Kinnaman.<\/p>\n<p>He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Hilary Blackmore;
