Especially when it comes to hotels, restaurants, diners, cafes and music venues. I want to show you landmarks around the world which are Historic, Vintage and Cool.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>London is calling!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>The National Gallery<\/strong><\/em><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The National Gallery is an art museum on Trafalgar Square in Central London. It was founded in 1824 and houses a collection of more than 2,300 paintings dating from the mid-13th century to 1900.<\/p>\n<p>Painters with more than twenty works in the collection are Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot, Carlo Crivelli, Anthony van Dyck, Francesco Guardi, Rembrandt van Rijn, Peter Paul Rubens, Jacob van Ruisdael, and David Teniers II.<\/p>\n<p>The only women artists with works in the collection are Artemisia Gentileschi, Marie Blancour, Rosa Bonheur, Rosalba Giovanna Carriera, Catharina van Hemessen, Judith Leyster, Rachel Ruysch, and Elisabeth Louise Vig\u00e9e-LeBrun.<\/p>\n<p>The only British artists with works in the collection are William Boxall, John Constable, Thomas Gainsborough, William Hogarth, John Hoppner, John Callcott Horsley, John Jackson, Thomas Jones, Cornelis Janssens van Ceulen, Thomas Lawrence, John Linnell, Henry Raeburn, Joshua Reynolds, Martin Archer Shee, George Stubbs, Joseph Mallord William Turner, Richard Wilson, and Joseph Wright of Derby.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the world\u2019s most famous works are on display here:<\/p>\n<p><em>\uf06c A Young Woman standing at a Virginal &#8211; Johannes Vermeer<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\uf06c Bathers (Les Grandes Baigneuses) &#8211; Paul Cezanne<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\uf06c Samson and Delilah &#8211; Peter Paul Rubens<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\uf06c Self Portrait at the Age of 34 &#8211; Rembrandt<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\uf06c Sunflowers &#8211; Vincent van Gogh<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\uf06c Van Gogh&#8217;s Chair &#8211; Vincent van Gogh<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\uf06c A Wheatfield, with Cypresses &#8211; Vincent van Gogh<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\uf06c The Entombment (or Christ being carried to his Tomb) &#8211; Michelangelo<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\uf06c The Virgin of the Rocks &#8211; Leonardo da Vinci<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\uf06c Water-Lilies &#8211; Claude Monet<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\uf06c The Water-Lily Pond &#8211; Claude Monet<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\uf06c Whistlejacket &#8211; George Stubbs<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\uf06c The Virgin in Prayer &#8211; Sassoferrato<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\uf06c The Virgin and Child Embracing &#8211; Sassoferrato<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The National Gallery in London is home to one of the greatest collections of paintings in the world.<\/p>\n<p>The last two paintings in the above list (Sassoferrato) are my absolute favorite.
