He was 48.<\/p>\n<p>He was one of the most famous faces on TV in the late 1990s and 2000s with his role as Dawson Leery in the TV show \u201cDawson\u2019s Creek\u201d, which ran from 1998 to 2003.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond television, he appeared in movies including \u201cVarsity Blues\u201d, \u201cTexas Rangers\u201d and \u201cThe Rules of Attraction\u201d. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>He also played a fictionalized version of himself in the cult television show \u201cDon&#8217;t Trust the B&#8212;- in Apartment 23\u201d, and he performed on the 28th season of \u201cDancing with the Stars\u201d<\/p>\n<p>James Van Der Beek is survived by his wife and their six children.<\/p>\n<p>Ringside Report sends their condolences to The Van Der Beek Family in their time of grief.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;
