It is 31 boutique-style bedrooms. The best dish on the menu is the fish &amp; chips and while eating it, wash it down with a pint of Young\u2019s original which is brewed by the British pub chain Young\u2019s of which The Coach and Horses has been part of since 1831. The Coach &amp; Horses truly does have everything you could wish for when staying in a pub, from uber-cosy bedrooms to cosy roaring fireplaces. So, if you are in the area look no further! <!--more--><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>KB: Describe to the RSR readers when Coach &amp; Horses was founded?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Coach &amp; Horses was established as a Coaching Inn pre-1700\u2019s, and upholds the Georgian architecture to this day.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>KB: Since when is it part of Young&#8217;s?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Young\u2019s took ownership of the Coach &amp; Horses in 1831.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>KB: How many rooms do you have and what do they look like?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Coach &amp; Horses is currently home to 31 boutique-style bedrooms, some of which have been fully refurbished in the last 12 months. All our rooms are a mix of contemporary and traditional modern styles.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>KB: Which dish and drink on the menu is a must-try for first time visitors?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s nothing more traditional (or tasty) than our fish and chips \u2013 cyder-battered British haddock, paired with triple cooked chips, marrowfat mushy peas, curry and tartar sauce. We\u2019d recommend washing this down with a pint of Young\u2019s original \u2013 a classic order at the Coach &amp; Horses.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>KB: Which famous people have visited over the years?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Whilst Kew is home to several famous faces and is a stone\u2019s throw away from Richmond-upon-Thames (a go-to filming location for several famous films and series), every guest who walks through our doors is treated as a celebrity. It\u2019s what\u2019s allowed us to be the heart and hub of the local community for so many years!<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>KB: In which series and movies did Coach &amp; Horses appear in?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>None that we are aware of.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>KB: Describe to the RSR readers what they can expect on a visit to Coach &amp; Horses?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>When stepping through the doors of our beautiful traditional pub, you\u2019re initially greeted by the friendly faces behind our bar. To the left you\u2019ll find our guests\u2019 favourite spot, with full length glazed doors overlooking Kew Green and grand fireplace to cosy up beside in the winter months. Then, wander past the open kitchen &#8211; giving our star kitchen team a wave on the way &#8211; and into our light-filled dining room, styled with subtle nods to Kew Gardens, our neighbours just a hop, skip, and a jump away.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>KB: Why should people visit or stay at Coach &amp; Horses?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Coach &amp; Horses truly does have everything you could wish for when staying in a pub, from uber-cosy bedrooms to cosy roaring fireplaces. We\u2019re of course well known for our proximity to the historical Kew Gardens, but Hampton Court Palace, Windsor Castle and Richmond-upon-Thames (where US TV series, Ted Lasso, is currently ongoing filming in) are all within easy reach, too.
