It is named after Commander John Wallace Linton, who was born at Claremont House, Malpas, Newport, in 1905. Tubby Linton, as he was known to his fellow officers, was posthumously awarded the Victoria Cross in 1943. The pub opening in 1995 marked the first Wetherspoon venue in Wales. People must try the prawn curry of something from the classic range when they come in for a bite to eat. A pint of Worthington is a favorite to have in the pub\u2019s cozy and warm environment.
