Written, arranged, and produced collaboratively by Janet Robin, Markus Illko and Rober Luis, the track blends the spirit of classic spaghetti\u2011western soundtracks with the trio\u2019s bold, modern acoustic style.<\/p>\n<p>Mysterious, filmic, playful, and rhythmically charged, \u201cWest of Spaghetti\u201d showcases the group\u2019s signature blend of global influences, intricate guitar interplay, and genre\u2011defying creativity. The track was mixed and mastered by acclaimed engineer Matthew Hyde (Rodrigo y Gabriela, Slipknot).<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cPure and simple, this was a complete collaboration from the composing to the performance,\u201d says guitarist Janet Robin. \u201cEnsemble creation. We were heavily inspired by Ennio Morricone with all the Spaghetti Western scores and the simplicity of Gustavo Sanatolalla&#8217;s compositions. We wanted to create something cinematic, but with only 3 instruments. Robin was named to Guitar Player Magazine\u2019s \u201cTop 50 Acoustic Guitarists\u201d bonus list in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>The trio also features Austrian guitarist Markus Illko, a Master of the Arts and award\u2011winning composer, and Cuban multi\u2011instrumentalist Rober Luis, whose rhythmic and melodic versatility shapes the group\u2019s distinctive sound.<\/p>\n<p>Their releases have earned millions of streams, Top 10 placements on Spotify\u2019s LA Instrumental Charts, and regular SiriusXM airplay. Known for re\u2011imagining iconic songs, they\u2019ve reinvented classics like \u201cBillie Jean,\u201d \u201cRocketman,\u201d and \u201cEnglishman in New York,\u201d while continuing to expand their catalog of original compositions.<\/p>\n<p>In 2024, The String Revolution won the GRAMMY Award\u00ae for Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella for their collaboration with Tommy Emmanuel on \u201cFolsom Prison Blues,\u201d produced by John Carter Cash.<\/p>\n<p>The group has also collaborated with guitarist Steve Stevens, saxophonist Lakecia Benjamin, percussionist Luis Conte, and bassist Byron House.
