The blockbuster fight is streaming live and exclusively on DAZN PPV, delivered to boxing fans around the globe by Matchroom in association with Top Rank.

Saturday night’s clash features no shortage of storylines, as Zayas looks to fend off a hungry fighter in Ennis, who will look to become a two-weight unified champion in just his second fight at the weight after pummeling Uisma Lima en route to a first round victory last October. The 23-year-old Zayas most recently unified both titles in January after besting Abass Baraou via split decision. Zayas has become one of boxing’s youngest stars and a unified ruler – the first Puerto Rican to unify at the weight.

Below is what the fighters and their teams had to say:

Eddie Hearn, Matchroom Chairman

On the excitement of Saturday night…

“Unquestionably, fight of the year…event of the year. This whole arena – Barclays Center – will be completely full to watch what boxing is all about. The unified world championship between two young, undefeated fighters. This undercard is a thriller. I’d love to see Emiliano Vargas down there and the man to my left, Bryce Mills, is looking to tear up the script. Emiliano is one of the top guys, and the man to my right [Bryce Mills], I think, is the future superstar of the sport, Ben Whittaker. The fans are not just going to see an incredible main event on Saturday, they’re going to see the best young fighters from both sides of the Atlantic. For Matchroom, on our behalf, this is a guy who sits at the top of our priorities in Ben Whittaker. One of the biggest stars in boxing in the weight class and a future world champion at 175 pounds.”

On why he thinks Boots is a superstar…

“What you’re about to see on Saturday night is one of the greatest performances from an American fighter that I think you’ve ever witnessed. The smile that has been on this guy’s [Boots Ennis] face all week, because this is the moment. This is the moment that he’s dreamed of his whole life, to show you and show everybody in the world how great he is. This is a massive moment for Jaron Ennis. This young man has lived in the gym with his father for years, decades. It’s only the beginning. Saturday is just the beginning to show the world how great he is. And again, no disrespect to Xander Zayas, what a fight…58-0 between these two. On Saturday night, you’re going to see the future of boxing. This is going to be one of the most clinical, brutal displays we’ve ever witnessed, and a packed arena here in Brooklyn. This son of a b**** is an animal. Let me tell you, you have no idea what you are about to witness on Saturday night. This fight is going to leave you with your jaws wide open, the hairs standing up on your neck, because this is the pound for pound number one and you are about to see on Saturday night.”

Todd DuBoef, President, Top Rank
On the excitement ahead of Saturday night…

“I walked into the press office today, and I saw Fernando [Vargas] sitting there, and he said, ‘I told you my son is the face of the sport.’ There’s something special. Our team has had our eyes on Emiliano [Vargas] from way before he turned pro, and he was on this stage. What really makes that ability to find somebody that has that shine, the marketability as Emiliano does, but it’s also developing the right way, and our match makers. Emiliano has delivered on every level, and to put him in New York, and to put this card together when we’re cutting through the greatest sporting event of the year by far with the FIFA World Cup, putting all of these fighters on the way we did it in Barclays Center…it’s amazing.”

On his confidence level for Xander Xayas going into this fight…

“He [Xander] just wants to win. Xander has delivered every step of the way for us, and every step of the way, he says, ‘Bring it on.’ So, I know Eddie [Hearn] thinks we’re going to see this masterpiece on Saturday night – and he should rightfully say that – but I’m telling you, I’ve never seen a will like this. I’ve never seen a Puerto Rican island just explode with enthusiasm, just wanting another superstar, and Xander knows it’s him. It feels like we’re really at the center of the sporting universe this week. This doesn’t happen quite enough in the sport of boxing, so I want to credit both fighters’ teams for having this fight on our platform. When I look at the fights we have delivered in 2026 so far, I have to say this one genuinely does stand out. The winner is not only going to be a unified World Champion in Xander’s case or two-weight in Boots’ case, but they will be the future of boxing in North America and potentially the world.
