Former Lightweight Champion, Julio Diaz, 37-6, 27 KO\u2019s, got his career back on track with a unanimous decision win over Herman Ngoudjo, 18-4, 10 KO\u2019s, by scores of 97-93 (twice) and 99-91. From the opening bell, Diaz employed movement and was able to use timing to hit Ngoudjo coming in. Diaz had some rocky moments and the score was seemingly closer than the 99-91 that one judge had it, but there was no mistaking the winner. Diaz had a great round in the sixth where a left hook stunned Ngoudjo and he followed up impressively, but he was not able to drop him or hurt him seriously. Some rough tactics by Ngoudjo couldn\u2019t sway Diaz from his game plan as he cruised to a win, reviving his career.<\/p>\n

SHOBOX <\/strong><\/p>\n

WBO Junior Middleweight Champion, Sergiy Dzinziruk, 36-0, 24 KO\u2019s, dominated Daniel Dawson, 34-2, 24 KO\u2019s, stopping him in the tenth round. Dzinziruk\u2019s record was based on much better competition and this was his sixth defense of his title, while Dawson had faced mostly stiffs throughout his career. The difference in class was immediately apparent and it was only a matter of time before the champion stopped the challenger. A good showcase win for the champion.<\/p>\n

Not Macho Time<\/strong><\/p>\n

Why is Hector \u201cMacho\u201d Camacho, 79-6-3, 38 KO\u2019s, still fighting at 47 years old? Well, he lost to unheralded journeyman, Saul Duran, 37-16-2, 30 KO\u2019s, by unanimous ten round decision last night after an ugly fight that featured the former champion clinching throughout, never really putting forth any aggression. This should put an end to the long and historic career of Macho Camacho.<\/p>\n
