Last week Daniel Bryan, Mark Henry, and Randy Orton had all secured their spots. Chris Jericho faced off against Daniel Bryan hoping to win and earn his spot in elimination chamber. It looked like Bryan had secured the win with his quick moves and submission holds but Jericho battled out, even after a kick to the head. Jericho ultimately hit the code breaker for the win, but let’s not sell Bryan short.

Even though he lost the match, he had some great counters and you really saw the strength of Bryan. He was able to power out of the Walls of Jericho which is no small feat. Probably one of the best parts of the matches was in the audience…people were on their feet cheering on Daniel Bryan with signs that said “The Dazzler” which a few weeks ago Bryan asked to be called in a tout video. It was great to see fans follow through with his request, not to mention it’s an awesome name. Through this win, Chris Jericho got his spot in the elimination chamber.

Jack Swagger is back and in full force. His new and improved persona is stronger and more intense. He had a match against Ryder and earned his spot in the PPV. Like we didn’t know who was going to win the match. Obviously a squash match but still good to see Jack Swagger out there doing his thing and building up his new tough guy image. He would win via submission by The Patriot Act (AKA – Ankle Lock). I do not normally defend Zack Ryder but seriously WWE what are you doing with this kid. You job him week after week; he has a pretty good following, throw him a freaking bone. If it’s his image that isn’t doing it for you, then repackage him and give him a legitimate chance.

With one spot to fill we knew Kane was trying to get a spot, but in a new twist, Dolph Ziggler who previously had turned down the chance to compete decided he wanted back in when he found out Chris Jericho was in the match. The two has history and have heat between them so we should have known that he would have wanted a shot at Jericho just for ego purposes. Booker T gave Dolph Ziggler a chance to prove himself, but he would have to face Kane. I didn’t think that they would give the spot to Ziggler since he does already have a title shot considering he has never cashed in Money in the Bank, so Kane won, securing his spot, leaving Ziggler to have to feed his ego and fight Jericho at another time.

The other big storyline of the night involved our WWE Champion, our Former WWE champion, and the man with all the answers, Paul Heyman. Heyman had come out earlier in the night announcing he was going to resign in order to spare Punk any kind of trouble that is floating around Heyman’s head. Punk came out though and convinced Paul to stay, saying that he needed him in his corner. I couldn’t agree more. The two of them together is an unstoppable force, and the partnership definitely has not run its course yet. I am ready for this to explode with the two of them on the hunt for another championship.

Heyman managed to convince the chairman to add a stipulation to the PPV match. If The Rock DQs or has a count out, Punk will regain the title. That was easy, uh, I have a feeling their will be a twist to that, I don’t see the chairman letting Heyman have what he wants that easy. Later that night the two walked out together to meet with the Rock. The Rock challenged Punk to come to the ring and Punk did. He stormed the ring, and the two brawled for a few minutes, but Rock’s quick wit and silver tongue could not help him when he was hoisted up onto the shoulders of Punk for the GTS. He hit the move and left The Rock laying there. Punk then picked up his title, and left the ring with it.

Whoa, Punk took the Rock’s title. That’s going to make an interesting twist, because I know that The Rock will be on the search for it very soon. If I were him I would check Punk’s refrigerator, He might be trying to keep it fresh for when he reclaims it at the PPV. Mwhaha. Heels rejoice!

By Dani Mitchell Last night left 3 opening spots available for elimination chamber.
