A mysterious place that is shaped like a star, Kalos is a region where players will encounter beautiful forests, thriving cities, and many never-before-seen Pok\u00e9mon. The central city of this breathtaking region is\u00a0<strong>Lumiose City<\/strong>, a metropolis featuring a tower that is set to become an iconic structure in\u00a0<em>Pok\u00e9mon X<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>Pok\u00e9mon Y<\/em>.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>While exploring the Kalos region, Trainers will encounter many new Pok\u00e9mon that they can battle, catch, and add to their Pok\u00e9dex. A Trainer is only as good as the Pok\u00e9mon he or she befriends. Seven new Pok\u00e9mon debuting in\u00a0<em>Pok\u00e9mon X<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>Pok\u00e9mon Y<\/em>\u00a0were introduced earlier this year\u2014and today, four additional Pok\u00e9mon are being revealed for the first time. These Pok\u00e9mon add to the more than 640 Pok\u00e9mon that have been encountered in previous games.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ITCqLM8JhY8\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\"><\/iframe>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The cowardly Pok\u00e9mon\u00a0<strong>Helioptile<\/strong>, a Normal- and Electric-type Pok\u00e9mon, can generate enough electricity through sunbathing to power machinery. But wise Trainers won\u2019t be deterred by Helioptile\u2019s lack of bravery. It knows\u00a0<strong>Parabolic Charge<\/strong>, a brand-new move where Helioptile attacks everything around it. Helioptile&#8217;s HP is restored by half the damage taken by those hit.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Fletchling<\/strong>, a Normal- and Flying-type Pok\u00e9mon, sings with a beautiful chirp that is sure to delight any Trainer. Although it is known to be very friendly, Fletchling will suddenly unleash relentless attacks once it\u2019s in battle. For example, when it uses its Fire-type move Flame Charge in battle, in addition to doing damage, Fletchling\u2019s Speed increases every time.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 With a leaf always in its mouth and an intimidating glare that is rarely effective, Fighting-type Pok\u00e9mon\u00a0<strong>Pancham<\/strong>\u00a0shows its playful side when it lets out a little smile when its head is pat. Pancham can learn a brand-new move,\u00a0<strong>Parting Shot<\/strong>, which not only lowers an opponent\u2019s Attack and Special Attack, but also allows Pancham to switch out for another Pok\u00e9mon in a Trainer\u2019s party during battle.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<em>Pok\u00e9mon X\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<em>Pok\u00e9mon Y<\/em>\u00a0introduce a new method of transportation\u2014riding the brand-new Pok\u00e9mon,\u00a0<strong>Gogoat<\/strong>. This large Grass-type Pok\u00e9mon is a reliable way to travel certain parts of Lumiose City. In battle, it can use Horn Leech to recover HP equal to half the damage dealt by this move.<\/p>\n<p>These brand-new Pok\u00e9mon and others caught in the Kalos region will be added to a player\u2019s Pok\u00e9dex that, for the first time, will be divided into three unique areas within the region. There is much to explore in the Kalos region, and many Pok\u00e9mon to encounter when\u00a0<em>Pok\u00e9mon X<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>Pok\u00e9mon Y<\/em>\u00a0debut worldwide this October.
