\"\"<\/a>Square Enix Ltd.<\/a>, the publisher of SQUARE ENIX\u00ae interactive entertainment products in Europe and other PAL territories, today announced that\u00a0FINAL FANTASY\u00ae XIV: A Realm Reborn\u2122<\/a><\/em>\u00a0is in development for the PlayStation\u00ae4 (PS4\u2122) system, and is due to release in 2014.<\/p>\n

Square Enix is currently in talks with Sony Computer Entertainment to ensure that players who purchase the PlayStation\u00ae3 version of the game will be able to smoothly transition their game accounts to the PS4\u2122 version upon its release.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe heart of everything we\u2019re working towards is enabling players and their friends to experience their own rich Final Fantasy adventure,\u201d said Naoki Yoshida, Producer & Director. \u201dThe deeply integrated social capabilities of the PS4 will make it a natural home for\u00a0FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn.\u00a0<\/em>The team and I are thrilled to continue our adventure on the next generation gaming platform, and we hope that you\u2019ll join us!\u201d<\/p>\n

The PlayStation\u00ae3 computer entertainment system and Windows PC versions will enter the third phase of beta testing on Friday, June 14th, and are due for global release on August 27th<\/sup>.\u00a0 \u00a0A free 30-day trial is also included for new accounts, with monthly subscriptions starting at \u00a37.69 \/ \u20ac10.99.<\/p>\n

Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) visitors are invited to demo\u00a0FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn<\/em>\u00a0at the Square Enix booth (South Hall #1647).<\/p>\n
