The games\u2019 newly discovered Kalos region will feature many towns to explore, people to meet, and never-before-seen Pok\u00e9mon to encounter. Players will also meet new Gym Leaders to challenge and collect Gym Badges from as they travel throughout Kalos. Many specific details are being shared for the first time today.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/s6cBcKEJsYE\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"420\" height=\"315\"><\/iframe><br \/>\n<strong>Welcome to<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Vaniville Town<\/strong><br \/>\nOnce a player has chosen to play as a male or female Trainer,\u00a0<em>Pok\u00e9mon X<\/em>\u00a0and<em>Pok\u00e9mon Y<\/em>\u00a0begins in\u00a0<strong>Vaniville Town<\/strong>. Step outside the house you just moved to and soon meet four new friends that will embark on a journey around the Kalos region with you. These four friends\u2014\u00a0<strong>Shauna<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Tierno<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Trevor<\/strong>, and<strong>Serena<\/strong>\u00a0(if you play as a boy) or\u00a0<strong>Calem<\/strong>\u00a0(if you play as a girl)\u2014are unique individuals:<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Shauna is an incredibly energetic girl who is coming along on the journey to find a dream of her own. She\u2019s friendly and outgoing, and seems to genuinely enjoy all the curiosities you\u2019ll come across on your journey.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Tierno is the dancer of the group and wants more than anything to create a dance team with his Pok\u00e9mon. Strong, kind, and light on his feet, Tierno gets easily distracted by watching opposing Pok\u00e9mon during battles because he\u2019s too busy trying to incorporate Pok\u00e9mon moves into his dances.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Trevor bursts with curiosity about the world around him. He\u2019s an excellent student, and very competitive, wanting to be the first of the group to complete his Pok\u00e9dex.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Serena or Calem lives next door to you in Vaniville Town. This character has a passion to become a powerful Pok\u00e9mon Trainer and sets out on the journey to accomplish that dream.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Meet Santalune City Gym Leader Viola<\/strong><br \/>\nThe first Gym Leader players will encounter on their adventure is Viola, the Gym Leader of Santalune City, a pleasant city that is known for its large fountain and park benches. Players will learn about Viola by first meeting her older sister,\u00a0<strong>Alexa<\/strong>, a journalist working for a publishing house in Lumiose City. Alexa insists that her sister will be happy to meet players visiting Santalune City. A professional photographer who specializes in Pok\u00e9mon photography, Viola presides over the Santalune City Gym, whose interior is constructed from threads like spiderwebs, strung together tightly above the darkness. Players will need to find a safe path through these threads, and will receive useful advice from Viola when they battle her.<\/p>\n<p>More never-before-seen Pok\u00e9mon that players will encounter in the Kalos region have been announced this morning. You can check them out in battle at the official Pok\u00e9mon YouTube page youtube.com\/pokemon.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Litleo\u00a0<\/strong>is a young, hot-blooded Pok\u00e9mon that is always ready for a battle. A Fire- and Normal-type Pok\u00e9mon, Litleo\u2019s red mane blazes with heat during battle, which burns hotter when it battles very strong opponents. Litleo knows a new Normal-type move in\u00a0<em>Pok\u00e9mon X<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>Pok\u00e9mon Y<\/em>,\u00a0<strong>Noble Roar<\/strong>. Useful against strong opponents, Noble Roar intimidates targets and lowers their Attack stat.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Debuting as a Fairy-type Pok\u00e9mon along with Sylveon,\u00a0<strong>Flab\u00e9b\u00e9<\/strong>\u00a0lives atop a flower that it chooses soon after it\u2019s born and will care for its entire life. Players may see different Flab\u00e9b\u00e9 holding flowers of different colours when encountering them in the wild. Flab\u00e9b\u00e9 is able to draw forth hidden powers that lie within its flower and use those powers in moves while battling. Flab\u00e9b\u00e9 knows\u00a0<strong>Fairy Wind<\/strong>, a Fairy-type move debuting in\u00a0<em>Pok\u00e9mon X<\/em>and\u00a0<em>Pok\u00e9mon Y<\/em>\u00a0that summons a wind that blasts an opponent as it attacks. Like all Fairy-type moves, it\u2019s super effective against Dragon-type Pok\u00e9mon.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 As Pok\u00e9mon evolve, they take on new appearances and learn new moves.\u00a0<em>Pok\u00e9mon X<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>Pok\u00e9mon Y<\/em>\u00a0will introduce the Bug-type Pok\u00e9mon<strong>Scatterbug<\/strong>. Scatterbug knows String Shot, a Bug-type move that can lower the Speed stat of opposing Pok\u00e9mon. Scatterbug evolves into\u00a0<strong>Spewpa<\/strong>, another new Bug-type Pok\u00e9mon that can withstand half-hearted attacks due to its stiff, fur-covered body. Use the Normal-type move Protect at a beginning of a turn to protect Spewpa from moves used against it on that turn. The final evolved form of Scatterbug, which was revealed earlier this week, is the new Bug- and Flying-type Pok\u00e9mon\u00a0<strong>Vivillon<\/strong>. It\u2019s said there\u2019s a secret behind the colourful decorative pattern on Vivillon\u2019s wings, which it uses to scatter its scales or create a strong wind to attack.
