On Oct. 12, <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pokemonxy.com\/en-us\/root\/\" target=\"new\" rel=\"noopener\">Pok\u00e9mon X<\/a><\/em> and<em> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pokemonxy.com\/en-us\/root\/\" target=\"new\" rel=\"noopener\">Pok\u00e9mon Y<\/a><\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pokemonxy.com\/en-us\/root\/\" target=\"new\" rel=\"noopener\">,<\/a> the newest installments in the world-famous series, are launching for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendo.com\/3ds\" target=\"new\" rel=\"noopener\">Nintendo 3DS family<\/a> of systems, including the new Nintendo 2DS system, which also launches on Oct. 12. In the games, players can discover new Pok\u00e9mon, interact with them like never before, connect with Trainers around the world and explore an entirely new region that is brought to life with stunning new visuals.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;More than 15 years after its initial debut, Pok\u00e9mon remains one of the strongest franchises in video games,&#8221; said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America\u2019s executive vice president of Sales &amp; Marketing. &#8220;With <em>Pok\u00e9mon X<\/em> and <em>Pok\u00e9mon Y<\/em>, the series has evolved in a breathtaking way. It&#8217;s time to once again catch \u2019em all!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><em>Pok\u00e9mon X<\/em> and <em>Pok\u00e9mon Y<\/em> feature a wide array of new and returning Pok\u00e9mon to catch, battle and trade. Players will be introduced to a new generation of Pok\u00e9mon, including three new Pok\u00e9mon to choose from at the beginning of the game \u2013 the Grass-type Chespin, Fire-type Fennekin and Water-type Froakie \u2013 and epic Legendary Pok\u00e9mon. <em>Pok\u00e9mon X<\/em> presents the majestic and mysterious Xerneas, while <em>Pok\u00e9mon Y<\/em> features the strong and powerful Yveltal. In addition to the new Pok\u00e9mon, hundreds of past favorites from previous generations are brought to life with detailed graphics and animations. Players will also be given the choice to receive Bulbasaur, Charmander or Squirtle \u2013 classic Pok\u00e9mon from the very first games in the series, <em>Pok\u00e9mon Red Version<\/em> and <em>Pok\u00e9mon Blue Version<\/em>. <em>Pok\u00e9mon X<\/em> and<em> Pok\u00e9mon Y<\/em> also introduce the Fairy type, the first new Pok\u00e9mon type since<em> Pok\u00e9mon Gold<\/em> and <em>Pok\u00e9mon Silver<\/em>, adding a whole new layer of strategy to battles.<\/p>\n<p>The battle system in<em> Pok\u00e9mon X<\/em> and<em> Pok\u00e9mon Y<\/em> has also experienced a major evolution, with new awe-inspiring Mega Evolutions and powerful new moves that certain Pok\u00e9mon can use. In <em>Pok\u00e9mon X<\/em> and<em> Pok\u00e9mon Y<\/em>, a dynamic camera rotates around the battle, showing off the games&#8217; exquisite animations and detailed graphics. New Horde Encounters take battling in the wild to a new, intense level that pits the player and a single Pok\u00e9mon against multiple wild Pok\u00e9mon.<\/p>\n<p>As players explore the new, beautiful Kalos region, they will visit rolling meadows, high cliffs, deep caves and unique towns and cities, each packed with caf\u00e9s, boutiques and various shops. The main playable male or female Trainer \u2013 who can be fully customized with clothes, accessories and haircuts \u2013 can even roller skate for faster movement or ride select Pok\u00e9mon to get through difficult areas.<\/p>\n<p><em>Pok\u00e9mon X<\/em> and <em>Pok\u00e9mon Y<\/em> introduce a host of new features that have never been seen before in the series. Pok\u00e9mon-Amie is a new mode in which players can pet, feed and play games with individual Pok\u00e9mon using the touch screen on the Nintendo 3DS system. By interacting with their Pok\u00e9mon, players can bond with them, which will result in higher performance in battles. Players can also engage in Super Training with Pok\u00e9mon to help them grow stronger when not in battle. The new Player Search System (PSS) makes it easy for players to connect, battle and trade with others nearby and around the world.<\/p>\n<p>Coming soon, <em>Pok\u00e9mon Bank<\/em> is a Nintendo 3DS application and service that lets players store up to 3,000 Pok\u00e9mon for an annual fee. <em>Pok\u00e9 Transporter<\/em> is a companion application to <em>Pok\u00e9mon Bank<\/em> that allows players to transfer Pok\u00e9mon from <em>Pok\u00e9mon Black Version<\/em>, <em>Pok\u00e9mon White Version<\/em>, <em>Pok\u00e9mon Black Version 2<\/em> and <em>Pok\u00e9mon White Version 2<\/em> to <em>Pok\u00e9mon Bank<\/em>, thereby making them available to use in<em> Pok\u00e9mon X<\/em> and<em> Pok\u00e9mon Y<\/em>. Both<em> Pok\u00e9mon Bank<\/em> and <em>Pok\u00e9 Transporter <\/em> will launch in the Nintendo eShop on Dec. 27.<\/p>\n<p><em>Pok\u00e9mon X <\/em> and<em> Pok\u00e9mon Y<\/em> will be available in stores and for purchase in the Nintendo eShop on Nintendo 3DS on Oct. 12. The new Nintendo 2DS hand-held system also launches Oct. 12, designed specifically for anyone looking for an entry point into the exciting world of Nintendo hand-held video games. The system maintains many of the same hardware features as Nintendo 3DS, like touch-screen controls, StreetPass, online multiplayer functionality and the ability to download games \u2013 all in a compact and comfortable package.
