I had the best training camp ever, some really tough sparring, so I was ready for this fight. To win the WBC Silver belt is a great achievement and brings me even closer to my dream of being world champion.’’

‘’The kid can fight,’’ said Jeter. ‘’He hit me with the best body shot I’ve ever been hit with. It took the wind out of me and I wasn’t able to recover. Credit to Patrick, he is very tough and obviously very well schooled.’’

Said Nisse Sauerland: ‘’This was a great performance from Patrick. He was in top shape going in this fight and I think that really showed on the night. His development has been incredible and I honestly believe he is one of the top middleweights in the worlds.’’

Said Kalle Sauerland: ‘’Tonight Patrick has announced himself on the world scene. He was different class. Now our focus now is on the world title. We are already in advance talks to stage a massive fight for Patrick in May.’’

It was a good night for the Nielsens as Patrick’s younger brother 20 year-old Cruiserweight Micki Nielsen (13-0, 10 KOs) won the vacant WBC Youth Cruiserweight World Title with a dominant performance against Gogita Gorgiladze (17-4, 13 KOs). After the fight Micki revealed he had injured his left hand in the early rounds forcing the southpaw to fight one handed.

‘’I hurt my hand so I wasn’t able to throw the big shots I needed to get the knockout,’’ said Nielsen. ‘’Even with one hand I felt I was always in control of the fight. It feels great to have won my first belt.’’

Also in action last night was Team Sauerland’s latest signing Abdul Khattab (6-0, 2 KOs). The stylish middleweight impressed on his promotional debut to claim a unanimous decision victory over Aleksei Tsatiasvili (5-6, 2 KOs).

Tim-Robin Lihaug (7-1, 5 KOs) earned a unanimous decision points victory over Marko Benzon (7-6, 4 KOs). All the judges scored the fight 59-55 in favour of the Norwegian prospect, who now has seven professional victories to his name.

The Swedish Princess Klara Svensson wasted no time in disposing of her Hungarian opponent Veronika Hornyak (4-3, 1 KO), scoring a first-round TKO victory. Svensson started fast and piled the pressure on Hornyak, who was down twice in the round, before the referee called a stop to the fight and the Malmo fighter earned her thirteenth professional victory.

Otto Wallin (6-0, 4 KOs) stopped his opponent Ladislav Kovarik (10-16, 5 KOs) in the fourth and final round of their heavyweight contest. Wallin produced a dominant display, working well behind a southpaw jab and unloading heavy shots at will. In the final round the punishment proved too much for Kovarik, resulting in a fourth-round TKO win for Wallin.

After six hard fought rounds Anthony Yigit (9-0-1, 3 KOs) was awarded a unanimous decision victory over British fighter Ryan Fields (2-2, 1 KO). Yigit showed guts and determination to get the win over Fields, with both men standing and trading punches for large portions of the fight. Ultimately, it was Yigit who was able to land the more telling blows and in doing so retained his undefeated record.

Read: Up Close and Personal with “Gentleman” Gerry Cooney

Photos: Team Wende Patrick Nielsen (22-0, 11 KOs) took another step closer to becoming world champion with a devastating knockout victory over Tony Jeter (16-4-1, 11 KOs) to claim the WBC Silver Middleweight World Championship at the Albertslund MusikTeatret in Copenhagen, Denmark.
