margin-right: 10px;\" title=\"Twilight Zone Header\" src=\"http:\/\/ringsidereport.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/Twilight-Zone-Header11.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"232\" height=\"169\" \/><\/a>Reviewed by Geno McGahee <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cIf you leave me, I\u2019m going to be very naughty.\u201d \u2013 Fitzgerald Fortune (Barry Morse) <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I like unsavory characters in film.\u00a0 I enjoy the bad guys and I especially like the bad guys when they are complete pricks and enjoy it.\u00a0 Now when you ad one of these characters to a Twilight Zone, you know that you are going to have a winner and you certainly do with \u201cA Piano in the House,\u201d one of the more amusing episodes.\u00a0 \u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>We begin with Fitzgerald Fortune (Barry Morse) seeking a gift for his young wife\u2019s birthday.\u00a0 She wants a piano, but being the asshole he is, he is trying to find her one of those pianos that play music without any human interaction.\u00a0 He did this because he didn\u2019t want her to embarrass herself by taking lessons and possibly failing.\u00a0 He was just being a prick and found it amusing when he brought it home and explained why he bought that particular model.\u00a0 Esther (Joan Hackett), the young wife, is not amused, and I can\u2019t believe that I\u2019m going to say this, but she is hot.\u00a0 I have never found a hot Esther before\u2026maybe it\u2019s just a generation thing.\u00a0 Nobody names their children \u201cEsther\u201d anymore.\u00a0 I have never found a hot Fitzgerald either.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The piano does more than play music.\u00a0 It can actually hypnotize a person, forcing them to expose their deepest secrets, which is something that Fitzgerald immediately takes interest in.\u00a0 He begins with his poor butler, Marvin (Cyril Delevanti), a miserable old man\u2026very old actually.\u00a0 He looked like he was 200 years old and he was just about out of a job.\u00a0 Fitzgerald was sick of his attitude and how everything was a downer to him, but when the piano played, Marvin smiled from ear to ear and danced with joy.\u00a0 He was actually a happy man but didn\u2019t show emotions.\u00a0 He wasn\u2019t into PDAs (public displays of affection).\u00a0 In other words, he wasn\u2019t going to suck off Fitzgerald at McDonalds.\u00a0 He kept to himself, but the piano changed him and made him divulge his secrets.\u00a0 It also worked with Esther\u2026who admits that she has grown to hate her hubby and rightfully so.\u00a0 I can\u2019t believe what a piece of crap this guy is. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This piano is too much fun for just a few, so Fitzgerald prepares it for a party he\u2019s throwing.\u00a0 He\u2019s going to have a lot of fun at everyone else\u2019s expense, starting with Marge (Muriel Landers), a big boned lady.\u00a0 I\u2019m sure that Fitzgerald would call her a \u201clard ass\u201d or a \u201cblimp,\u201d but that\u2019s just jerk talk.\u00a0 So, this lard ass comes over and starts taking shots at herself, making light of her weight problem, saying things like: \u201cDiets, what\u2019s that?\u201d\u00a0 Well, we all know these people that are overweight by a ton and make fun of it themselves, and that\u2019s cool.\u00a0 I wish more people employed that.\u00a0 They would take the power away from their tormenter.\u00a0 Picture two people standing face to face, one fat, one thin, and the fat guy says: \u201cI\u2019m a lard ass,\u201d and then the thin tormenter says: \u201cYep, you hit the nail right on the head tubbo.\u201d\u00a0 Wait, that didn\u2019t work at all.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The music works on Marge as she too dances around the room and talks about being a little girl and also how she craves a man in her life.\u00a0 Fitzgerald bursts with laughter and then throws it in Marge\u2019s face when she comes to.\u00a0 He thought it was hilarious to humiliate her in front of the crowd, but when his wife hits him with some music, his tune quickly changes and this tale goes from good to great.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The secrets of Fitzgerald are exposed, and although this tale is fantastic all around, the ending by far is the best part.\u00a0 I found it very amusing to see him erupt.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This is a great episode from start to finish and it once again shows the human nature of people.\u00a0 Part of what I liked about it was that it challenged your way of thinking as Serling often does.\u00a0 Who is more in the wrong, Esther for her infidelities or Fitzgerald for being a complete asshole?\u00a0 It makes you think and I really enjoyed this tale.\u00a0 This episode features one of the best villains in TZ history and if you haven\u2019t seen it, what are you waiting for, a piano up your ass?\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>RSR Rating: 9\/10.
