Boxing has always been part of my heart since the age of 7, way back in 1975. Shut UP! I know I am 46….. smile…. Well, enough about me, let’s get to your questions..

“Bad” Brad,

Where does Floyd Jr go from here after he beat the crap out of Maidana?

Trent

Trent,

Honestly, wherever he wants to go. The Khan fight is crap. No need for a rematch with Cotto. And Pacquiao will probably never happen, but if it does, PBF blows him out of the ring. I would rather see Floyd fight an in his prime Chris Algeri than Pacquiao. But if there was one superfight, it would be Floyd vs GGG. If I had to wager, it will never happen. So Floyd will fight the Khan’s of the world and retire with his 0 in tact. The only fighter in and around his weight that beats Floyd, is Floyd himself.

BB,

I have been following your columns for years since we both live in the DMV. Let me ask you the infamous question, is boxing dead?

Will J.
Towson, MD

Will J.,

I have been asked this question for over a decade. No, the sport of boxing is far from dead. It is in the hurt locker? Sure! Why? First off, it needs to be on the regular networks like ABC, NBC and CBS. When I started following boxing in 1975, all the major networks had it on. Second, the best fighters have to get off this BS of not fighting each other. Just think of this round robin… Roberto Duran, Marvelous Marvin Hagler, Sugar Ray Leonard and Tommy Hearns. They fought each other in their prime for the most part! If champions start doing this again, the sport comes ALIVE again.

Bad Boy B,

Long time. I did enjoy your email bags and Geno’s too. I have followed Breadman over at Boxing Talk who like you guys, had back in the day, a damn good email bag. Being an oldschool guy like we are, and knowing your favorite fighter is The Hawk, Aaron Pryor, who do you think wins at 140 between him and Floyd?

Jack P.

Jack,

Man it’s been years buddy. Great to hear from you and I agree about Breadman’s bag. The cat knows his boxing for sure. Well, I am going to make this simple. Floyd has always has problems with pressure fighters like Jose Luis Castillo in their first match and Maidana in their first match when he decided to mix it up. Pryor would swarm PBF and all the defense in the world would not save him! Aaron Pryor in 5 rounds, by TKO over Floyd Mayweather, JR.

That ends this email bag, but keep those questions coming….

Send your questions for “Bad” Brad’s Email Bag

Hosted by “Bad” Brad Berkwitt RSR readers, people working in boxing and boxing fans around the world, to say that I am moved by the emails, texts and phone calls about me coming back into the sport of boxing especially through my interviews, is an understatement.
