Casey Anthony, the infamous \u201cTot Mom\u201d that was acquitted in the death of her young daughter, Caylee, appeared on CNN\u2019s Piers Morgan, saying that she was found not guilty because she was in fact, not guilty of the crime.<\/p>\n

She noted, \u201cObviously, I didn\u2019t kill my daughter. If anything, there\u2019s nothing in the world I\u2019ve ever been more proud of and there\u2019s no one I loved more than my daughter. She\u2019s my greatest accomplishment.\u201d<\/p>\n

The world stood still as they watched the Casey Anthony trial develop. The evidence presented led the majority of the public to believe that the 26 year old mother murdered her daughter. The smell of decomposition in the trunk, the behavior when young Caylee was \u201cmissing,\u201d and the constant lies were strong evidence, but the prosecution may have reached too far with the charges and the jury couldn\u2019t agree to put her away.<\/p>\n

Anthony was convicted of four counts of lying to authorities, but the minor charges have not satisfied the lynch mob that wants her head. Casey stated that \u201cI\u2019m ashamed in many ways of the person that I was. Even then, that wasn\u2019t who I am. I\u2019m 26 now and I\u2019ve gone through hell.\u201d<\/p>\n

Casey has been the target of the media and the verdict publicly was in far before the jury returned. Leading the charge was Nancy Grace, an outspoken former attorney that wanted badly to see Anthony go away for a long time. The contention is that she murdered Caylee, but the defense argued that the child had accidentally drowned and that George Anthony, Casey\u2019s father, covered it up. George came under heavy fire by the defense, making a villain of him with child molestation allegations. That helped Anthony\u2019s case. She became the victim.<\/p>\n

There has been much speculation that Anthony will profit greatly from her perceived crime, but she contended that \u201cI\u2019m not making gazillions of dollars at the hands of other people or trying to sell myself to anyone willing to throw a couple of dollars at me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Just as it was when it monopolized the headlines, the Casey Anthony story is still hot news. Love it or hate it, she is still one of the more compelling figures in recent history.<\/p>\n
