\"\"<\/a>Artix Entertainment, the indie game development studio that creates and publishes download-free, browser-based RPGs to over 150 million registered players, will release the public Beta for\u00a0Oversoul,\u00a0<\/em>its newest PVP MMORPG, on October 31st, 2012. The public Beta release will be open to all players.<\/p>\n

Oversoul<\/em>\u00a0is AE’s newest PVP MMORPG. The combat system is turn-based strategy where players will use battlecards to battle against monsters in PvE (Player vs. Environment) combat or against other players in PvP (Player vs. Player) combat. Each monster has its own strengths and weaknesses and it’s up to the players to find out what those are and use their battlecards effectively to win the fight. Players will often need to change their strategies for each battle to successfully defeat different monsters. Winning a battle against a monster will allow the players a chance to possess it and play the game as that monster.<\/p>\n

At the start of a new battle, players will be dealt five cards. Cards can be attacks, defense, or specials. Each deck will have only a small percentage of specials cards. Specials allow for fun game mechanics such as turning all of a player’s attack cards into block cards, causing the enemy to lose one turn, or allowing the player to lose hitpoints in exchange for greater damage on an attack card.<\/p>\n

Each card will have its own energy cost and players will often have to charge a specific energy type the card requires before they’re able to use it in the battle. Some cards will be expensive to use, requiring two or more turns to be spent on charging. When players build up enough energy, they can spend it on as many cards as their energy can cover.<\/p>\n

Each successive turn spent charging will grant more energy. Players can decide if they want to alternate turns between charging and using cards or spending two or more turns earning more and more energy without using any cards \u2013 and save them for a big attack later!<\/p>\n

Each monster that players possess can be leveled through a series of evolutions. Monsters that are newly possessed will be able to be leveled into Veteran, Master, and Legendary. Higher level monsters will look more impressive and will have access to more powerful cards.<\/p>\n

Monsters, levels, and all other rewards earned during Beta will be permanent and will carry over to the live game release.
