\"\"<\/a>The action-packed, GLORY 3 Rome \u2018Final 8\u2019 lightweight (70 kilograms\/154 pounds) tournament semifinal round matchup between 21-year-old rising star Sanny Dahlbeck (25-5, 15 KO\u2019s) of Sweden and eventual tournament runner-up Robin van Roosmalen (37-14-3, 12 KO\u2019s) of Netherlands was voted \u2018Fight of the Night\u2019 by a landslide margin, by fans who tuned into the star-studded championship kickboxing event that awarded its winner, Giorgio Petrosyan (74-1-2 (1 NC), 34 KO\u2019s) of Italy, a grand prize of $300,000 at the famed PalaLottomatica arena on Saturday, Nov. 3, live on GloryWorldSeries.com. <\/p>\n

The poll results, determined by the number of re-tweets fans gave each tournament matchup after the event unfolded, have earned Dahlbeck and van Roosmalen a Fight of the Night bonus of $10,000 from GLORY.<\/p>\n

The tournament quarterfinal round contest between Dahlbeck and Japanese standout Yoshihiro Sato (49-19, 20 KO\u2019s) in which Dahlbeck emerged victorious via second round TKO, finished as runner-up in the Fight of the Night poll.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of GLORY\u2019s goals is to give fans a voice within our league and the sport of kickboxing and, thus, we felt the Fight of the Night poll would be a great avenue to support this mission by allowing fans to award the two fighters whom they felt turned in the best performance during Saturday\u2019s tournament,\u201d said GLORY Managing Director Marcus Luer. \u201cThe fans\u2019 enthusiastic participation in the Fight of the Night poll demonstrates just how passionate they are about our great sport and their appreciation deserves to be heard.\u201d<\/p>\n

Van Roosmalen scored an inside knockdown on Dahlbeck in each of the first two rounds after Dahlbeck had kept his shorter, stockier opponent at bay for the majority of each frame. In the third round, van Roosmalen sealed the deal, landing a crushing body punch that put Dahlbeck on the canvas and rendered him unable to recover.<\/p>\n

In the championship round showdown of the tournament, van Roosmalen gave up a judges\u2019 decision to Petrosyan, who re-affirmed his status as the world\u2019s No. 1 ranked superstar in the weight division, after three rounds of battle. The championship round bout finished in fifth place in the Fight of the Night poll.<\/p>\n
