We would have expected an exchange of steely glances, knowing nods, a smirk perhaps and a seething tension that said what words just can’t capture. Instead, we witnessed a thug approach a professional fighter and desperately try to squirm out of a fight by suggesting they exchange numbers and talk directly…inferring that Bob Arum and Top Rank would be side stepped. That will NOT happen and the thug knows it.

The Floyd faithful blew the sacred horns of bullshit across the Facebook wastelands last night unashamedly fabricating a ludicrous scenario where Mayweather confronted Pacquiao about his assertions that he had agreed terms on the fight. The fact that phones were produced and numbers given was irrelevant. Who cares about the truth when bare faced lies are more satisfying? The celebrations began with false photographs of Floyd holding up a card thanking the moronic legion for its loyalty….presumably written by someone who could spell…that alone would raise a red flag. This led to cyber hugging and a high fives and men who usually struggled to put three words together in a structured sentence threw caution to the wind and allowed reams of illiterate nonsense to overflow like a blocked sewer. Today’s confirmation that the men merely exchanged numbers hasn’t dulled some trolls enthusiasm. I had a comment on one of my columns that ‘Floyd f**ked that filopeeno up like a sushsy role”…indeed. Adult education centers and travelling circuses take note.

So, Floyd suggested in front of live cameras that direct talks would need to take place if the fight were going to be made. Floyd knows Arum will have to be involved so this was done for the following reasons.

1. Floyd is afraid of fighting Pacquiao and Arum is as good a scapegoat as any.

2. Pacquiao has agreed to ALL Floyd’s demands and Mayweather can no longer blame him for the fight not happening.

3. Floyd is losing massive support and needs to be seen facing Pacquiao….but not actually fighting him.

4. An announcement on the Cotto rematch is imminent and he knows there will be a backlash.

5. Floyd had hoped to be in Australia when the Cotto rematch was announced but he is having visa problems and he may be in the US to face the music.

6. Floyd knows that Pacquiao, like 99% of fighters, leaves fight negotiations to his management team and that he will never deal directly meaning Floyd will never face Manny.

7. Mayweather is a coward, a woman beater and a street thug but he knows his fans will accept whatever he decides to blow out his ass.

I started this article by talking about classy guys and I will finish the same way.
