Before I get into my column, I wanted to thank you for the great emails you have sent me on this box of mine. It has been suggested that I do an email bag at some point and just got off the phone with \u201cBad\u201d Brad who is all for it. Who cares even if he wasn\u2019t? I changed his diapers as a baby, so I have carte blanche with him!

It\u2019s been almost 17 years since I lost my pal Alvin, (\u201cBad\u201d Brad\u2019s father) and I can tell you that not a day goes by when I don\u2019t think of him. He was the most loyal, funniest SOB I have ever known that as I write this, I am very moved. Time for an Alvin story\u2026\u2026<\/p>\n
In 1977, a film classic called Slap Shot with Paul Newman as the star came out. Al knew Paul from his Hollywood days. Well, he took Bradley and I to the movie. We would all go many times because he wanted Bradley to have a diverse respect of films. Bradley, was 9 years old and the movie was rated R. There was some bad words in it, but nothing that Al felt he had not heard before. After all, Bradley grew up on Miami Beach after they moved there in 1975, from New York.<\/p>\n
I can recall this story like it was yesterday. The manager of The Carlyle Movie Theater stopped Al at the popcorn stand and said, \u201cSir, you do realize this movie is Rated R and your son is very young and it has bad words in it.\u201d With a straight face and not missing a beat, Al says, \u201cThere\u2019s not a word I have not called him already that is in this movie.\u201d I was on the floor. Vintage Al! I miss you buddy, and one day, we will meet up again. Sleep well Champ\u2026.<\/p>\n
Tommy Morrison\u2026<\/strong><\/em> I can remember a call from Al back in 1991 when Tommy stopped Yuri Valin in five rounds. Al said, \u201cwatch this kid, he has talent and charisma.\u201d I know Bradley has had both of sons Trey and Kenzie on his show and from what I can see, they are following in their father\u2019s footsteps and I wish both boys, the very best. Your father was special and screw the negative stuff, and always remember the positive, because at his best, Tommy was special in that ring.<\/p>\nFloyd Mayweather, JR. \u2013 Manny Pacquiao Rematch…<\/strong> <\/em>It\u2019s DOA more than my putz on a Saturday night when Sadie parades around in her flapper dress. I have talked to many people in the sport of boxing and nobody wants to see it no matter if Manny takes an OATH he has no physical issues.<\/p>\nThe Chutzpah Award<\/strong> <\/em>for this column goes to, \u00a0Bradley\u2019s, Uncle Stan Cooper. The man turned 90 years on May 28th and is as amazing as he was when he worked for Frank Sinatra over 60 years ago. Stan has been responsible for such hits songs as Learnin The Blues which was a hit by Sinatra, Seven Lonely Days sung by Georgia Gibbs, Catch a Falling Star sung by Perry Como and In The Wee Small Hours Of The Morning, a standard also sung by Frank Sinatra. These are only a few, but at 90, his mind is as sharp as when Al, Stan and I hung in NYC years ago having breakfast almost daily with Nat King Cole or Telly Savalas who by the way, Stan is responsible for him becoming a star

\nHe encouraged Telly for over a year to go to Hollywood and when he finally did, and landed Birdman of Alcatraz, that was all it took. In fact, there is an old Johnny Carson Show where Telly is asked how he broke into acting?
