I\u2019m going to veer off my usual topic of boxing to address a soap opera in the sports world which I\u2019ve really had enough of. On today\u2019s episode of as the stomach turns! The NFL and NFLPA are reportedly in talks to reach a compromise on Tom Brady\u2019s suspension. However, according to an ESPN report today, it is unlikely the sides will reach a settlement. OK, now we go to court, like the American justice system doesn\u2019t have enough to deal with! What\u2019s next? Maybe a congressional hearing with Dennis Fung and Henry Lee as guest witnesses? <\/p>\n

Honestly, six months of talk, discussion, and speculation among grown men about deflated \u201cfoot\u201d balls is more than enough! This is not to mention the millions of dollars that have been wasted on the investigation over the course of the past several months! It\u2019s time to put an end to this nonsense once and for all!<\/p>\n

Tom: Yes, the Wells report has more holes in it than a hobo has in his underwear. The case against you is sketchy at best. That said, I do believe it is \u201cmore likely than not\u201d that the \u201cfootballs\u201d were tampered with on that January 18th Foxboro evening more than six months ago. If so, I also believe it is \u201cmore likely than not\u201d that you knew something about this. Yes, the NFL hasn\u2019t proved its case, but no, I don\u2019t think you\u2019re entirely squeaky clean in this either. In the end, I don\u2019t think a one or two game suspension has a major impact on the upcoming Patriots season and it has no effect on your legacy. Deflated \u201cFootballs\u201d or not, the Patriots won that game 45-7. Tom, put an end to this mess, its only hurting your reputation and distracting from the upcoming football season.<\/p>\n

Roger: Seriously, dude it\u2019s time for you to step down as NFL commissioner. Over the course of your tenure, you\u2019ve ruled with an iron fist while, at the same time, failing to accept responsibility for your own failures and shortcomings. This most recent \u201cdeflate-gate\u201d investigation is just the latest blunder that\u2019s occurred under your watch added to:<\/p>\n

*The Ray Rice fiasco which you were more than willing to sweep under the rug until a certain TMZ video came out.<\/p>\n

*Labor disputes with the players in 2011 and referees in 2012. Instead of being the voice of cooperation and compromise, you were a lightning rod and a divisive force in both instances.<\/p>\n

*You were also complicit in the NFL\u2019s longstanding cover up of the severity of concussion issues before changing your tune in the face of public pressure.<\/p>\n

Throughout your tenure, you\u2019ve consistently demonstrated that you\u2019re not interested in doing the `right thing\u2019 but rather only that which is politically expedient and preserves your power. The emperor wears no clothes. Give it up and do the right thing! A one or two game suspension for Brady is the best solution for all concerned.<\/p>\n

Enough is enough! Let\u2019s put an end to this mess and move on to the upcoming season!<\/p>\n
