\"WWE<\/a>WWE has raised $213,000 for \u201cAnswer the Call,\u201d the New York Police and Fire Widows\u2019 and Children\u2019s Benefit Fund.<\/p>\n

As part of WWE\u2019s community outreach initiatives during SummerSlam\u00ae week in New York City, the company partnered with Charitybuzz.com for an online auction that featured 40 unique, once-in-a-lifetime experiences with WWE Superstars and Divas, as well other sports and entertainment celebrities.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are honored that WWE chose to support \u2018Answer the Call\u2019 for the families of New York City\u2019s fallen first responders,\u201d said Mark Messier, Vice President of Community Affairs for the New York Police and Fire Widows\u2019 and Children\u2019s Benefit Fund. \u201cThrough this partnership, we collectively raised more than $200,000, which will ensure that we continue to provide a network of support and financial assistance for those who have lost a loved one in the line of duty.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are thankful to the athletes, celebrities and fans, all of whom came together to support the families of New York\u2019s Bravest and Finest \u2013 true heroes who selflessly serve the citizens of this great city,\u201d said Stephanie McMahon, WWE Chief Brand Officer. \u201cWWE has a rich history in New York, from WrestleMania 1 to WrestleMania 29 to this year\u2019s SummerSlam, and it is especially meaningful for WWE to give back so close to home.\u201d<\/p>\n

Proceeds from this auction will provide assistance to the families of New York City Police Officers, Firefighters, Port Authority Police and EMS Personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty.
