Kubrat Pulev (22-1, 12 KOs) has vowed to make his coach Ulli Wegner proud again following the loss suffered by the legendary German coach\u2019s star pupil Arthur Abraham last weekend in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n

Pulev faces Dereck Chisora (25-5, 17 KOs) on May 7 at the Barclaycard Arena in a European Heavyweight title fight and IBF World title eliminator. The Bulgarian fighter says he will atone for Abraham\u2019s loss by bringing another title back to Wegner\u2019s training group.<\/p>\n

\u2018\u2019My coach Ulli Wegner and his assistant Georg Bramowski have been doing an excellent job,\u2019\u2019 said Pulev. \u2018\u2019But in the ring, it\u2019s up to the fighter to perform. It was disappointing to see Arthur lose his title, but I hope to make Mr. Wegner proud again by winning the European belt and then becoming World Champion.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n

The hard has already begun for the 34 year-old, who was this week joined in training camp at the Kienbaum Olympic Centre by his coach Wegner.<\/p>\n

\u2018\u2019Kubrat now has my full attention,\u2019\u2019 said the star coach. \u2018\u2019We have lost a title in our training group, which is very painful, but now we must look forward.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n

There was some cause for celebration last weekend with another of Wegner\u2019s prot\u00e9g\u00e9\u2019s \u2018Golden\u2019 Jack Culcay claiming World honours. The former European Champion scored a stoppage victory over Jean Carlos Prada for the WBA World Super Welterweight belt.<\/p>\n

\u2018\u2019Jack has shown what can be done with hard work,\u2019\u2019 said Wegner. \u2018\u2019Now, I expect the same from Kubrat. He must train hard and be ready for twelve tough rounds.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018\u2019Maybe Chisora will see the current situation as an advantage to him,\u2019\u2019 adds Pulev. \u2018\u2019But if he underestimates me, he will be in for a rude awakening on May 7.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n
