It seems that UFC can’t catch a break but USADA is on a roll. For the second time, former heavyweight champion, Brock Lesnar tested positive for as yet to be determined banned substance, this time though, the test was conductive “in-competition” meaning the banned substance was in his system during fight day, USADA did not specify as to whether it’s from a pre-fight or post-fight drug test last July 9.<\/p>\n

The USADA issued a statement on the matter:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe UFC organization was notified today that the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) has informed Brock Lesnar that his in-competition sample collection from July 9, 2016, at UFC 200, has tested positive for the same substance as his previously announced out-of-competition collection on June 28, 2016.<\/p>\n

\u201cUSADA, the independent administrator of the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, will handle the results management and appropriate adjudication of this case. It is important to note that, under the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, there is a full fair legal review process that is afforded to all athletes before any sanctions are imposed. The Nevada State Athletic Commission also retains jurisdiction over this matter as the sample collection was performed at UFC 200 in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n

\u201cConsistent with all previous potential anti-doping violations, additional information will be provided at the appropriate time as the process moves forward.”<\/p>\n

News of the positive test is another devastating blow to Lesnar and the UFC, following Lesnar’s first out-of-competition test that came out positive, Lesnar’s camp explained that it could’ve been from his asthma inhaler.
\nNow that a second positive test has been reported, MMA media is still waiting for UFC’s official statement and a statement from Lesnar’s camp.<\/p>\n

Lesnar’s UFC 200 opponent Mark Hunt was reportedly upset about the first positive test, Hunt demanded a portion of Lesnar’s 2.5 million dollar earnings, with this new development, MMA media is still awaiting Hunt’s comment on the matter.
