Whether it’s win or lose, former multi-divisional MMA champion and legend Dan Henderson will retire after he settles his final fight against middelweight champion Michael “The Count” Bisping. “That is my plan, win or lose I\u2019m ready mentally to retire.<\/p>\n

My body could still probably go another two, three years more. I\u2019ve put it through enough. I\u2019m ready to take it a little bit easier, but still be involved in MMA doing something a little bit different than fighting.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m pretty sure it will be a pay-per-view and I\u2019d expect that it happens relatively soon, possibly in the next couple of days. We should be able to get it figured out. I\u2019m waiting to hear the exact date, and where but I\u2019m almost positive it will happen, there\u2019s no reason why it shouldn\u2019t at this point.”<\/p>\n

Although the fight has not yet been officially announced, it has been verbally agreed upon by both fighters and the UFC and may take place in Bisping’s home country of Great Britain. Henderson has been fighting since 1998, he’s a former collegiate wrestler and a Pan-American gold medalist in 2000, he failed to make the Olympic team which prompted him to transition to the next big thing; MMA.<\/p>\n

Henderson is considered to be a legend and a first ballot hall of famer, he has fought the who’s who and defeated most of them. He has won two belts in two different weight classes (middleweight and welterweight) in Pride FC, UFC’s Japanese counterpart. Henderson has yet to win his UFC title. He has challenged the Anderson Silva for the Middleweight title and lost via rear naked choke and also challenged Quinton “Rampage” Jackson for the light heavyweight championship which he also lost via decision.<\/p>\n

Henderson is also known to have arguably the most deadly one-punch KO power on his right hand, which allowed him to be competitive in three divisions. Lately, his age has become a factor which led to some of his losses, his brutal win against Michael Bisping in UFC 100 seven years ago is his bargaining chip on getting the title shot, despite not racking up a series of wins.<\/p>\n
