\"e88c92af-c5e0-4819-b430-d256536d5b64\"<\/a>Main Events deepens its already stacked stable with the addition of former professional kickboxing sensation Enriko Gogokhia (1-0, 1 KO). The 25-year old from Ukraine made his professional boxing debut at super welterweight in June of this year with a second round knockout of Steven Chad McKinney in El Monte, California.
\n<\/p>\n

As a kickboxer Gogokhia was a Muay Thai-style fighter. His professional career record as was 42-7, 21 KOs*. During his kickboxing career he acquired several accolades. In 2012 he won the WKF World Title and the Tatneft Arena World Cup. Then in 2015 he was a Kunlun Fight World Championship Finalist and won the W5 Intercontinental Championship belt. After nearly six years as a professional kickboxer he has decided to make the transition to boxing.<\/p>\n

Enriko will have his first fight under the Main Events’ banner on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 when he faces Even Torres (4-1, 4 KOs) at LA Exchange in Los Angeles, California in a six round bout.<\/p>\n

“Since I was a kid I always had a dream to become professional boxer,” said Gogokhia. “I am so happy to partner with Main Events as I transition into this next phase of my professional career. I hope my fans will follow me from kickboxing to the sweet science.”<\/p>\n

Gogokhia is managed by renowned manager, Egis Klimas who added, “Gogokhia was an exciting kickboxer and I am sure he will be an even more exciting boxer. That is why we are pleased to team up with Main Events as he makes the move from kickboxing to boxing.”<\/p>\n

According to Main Events’ Matchmaker and 2015 NABF Matchmaker of the Year Jolene Mizzone, “After seeing Gogokhia’s boxing debut on June 11 we were very impressed with his fighting style. He has a come-forward aggressive attack and he throws a lot of punches and dangerous combinations. He is very exciting and I loved his attitude.<\/p>\n
