I know you\u2019ve all has seen those Oscar and Grammy post shows that ask the question: Who wore it best? The \u201cfashionistas\u201d sit in a gaggle and compare the dress choices and styles of all the A-list celebrities as if it\u2019s a matter of national security or it\u2019s going to produce world peace. This has prompted me to ask the question after seeing half of the 31st Olympiad and some of the most dominant performances in history; Who dominated best?<\/p>\n

First we have Michael Phelps the \u201cBaltimore Bullet\u201d whom I personally call Aqua Man won his 23rd Gold medal in swimming. He has been coming back for years and years and making it seem as routine as death and taxes that he will win. His body is godly ordained and designed for Olympic Swimming. At 6ft 4 inches. He has a wing-span that is 6ft 7 inches. Large hands and double jointed ankles that allow his size 14 feet to act as propellers in the water.<\/p>\n

Which brings us to Katie Ledecky whom Dan Patrick affectionately nick-named \u201cSecredecky\u201d because she absolutely shattered the World Record for the Woman\u2019s 800 meter freestyle with an astonishing 8:04.79. The visual of her virtually lapping the field, and a full 11 seconds before her closest competitor would reach the finish left an indelible mark for this Olympiad.<\/p>\n

Then there is Usain \u201cLightning\u201d Bolt the Jamaican Sprinting Icon that once again took our breath away in under 10 seconds as we watched him yet again, for the 3rd straight Olympics claim and solidify the title The World\u2019s Fastest Human. His 6ft 5 inch frame only needs 41 strides to finish 100 meters while mere mortals need at least 44. This is further coupled with his quick turnover and cycling of his stride, which goes at the rate of a 5ft 10 inch world class sprinter.<\/p>\n

There has to be something said for finding your absolute purpose in life. I heard this week that 90% of us will never find what we were purposed and designed to do in this life. If only there were some book out there, that had the (Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth). And we could figure out life\u2019s mystery. We could not only know our purpose, but discover we are purpose. Placed in this life on assignment to accomplish and solve problems.<\/p>\n

As for who dominated best? I think that will be left open for the sports writers and barber shop patrons to argue out. I simply have to honor these athletes as well as all of the medalists in this year\u2019s Olympics. To participate an honor, to medal must be incredibly exhilarating. Well done.<\/p>\n
