Kassi withdrew from the fight with a hurt hand after the third round; however, \u201cBig Baby\u201d (295 lbs) was demonstrating his superior size and strength over his game challenger by pounding him with devastating body shots throughout the third round. Kassi appeared dazed and hurt several times throughout the round, and seemed very wobbly heading back to his corner after absorbing some major head and body blows from his undefeated foe.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>In the co-event, Mason Menard, 32-1, 24 KO\u2019s stopped Bahodir Mmadjonov, 19-3, 11 KO\u2019s with a vicious combination of body shots in the ninth round to win the vacant WBO-NABO Lightweight championship. Menard from Louisiana was in control of much of the bout, including sending the Uzbekistan challenger to the canvas twice in the seventh round with tremendous hooks to the body.<\/p>\n<p>In the most competitive fight of the night, Antonio Nieves, 16-0-2, 8 KO\u2019s was able to retain his WBO-NABO Bantamweight title against Alejando Santiago, 11-2-2, 3 KO\u2019s by split-decision draw. The spirited-challenger easily won the exchanges late in the fight and won four of the last five rounds from the defending champion.<\/p>\n<p>Also on the card, Bakhtiyar Eyubov, 11-0, 10 KO\u2019s remained undefeated by winning a controversial split-decision victory over Karim Mayfield, 19-4-1, 11 KO\u2019s in the welterweight division. Eyubov was penalized in the eighth round and had a point deducted for repeated low blows.<\/p>\n<p>Cruiserweight prospect Alexey Zurov, 12-1, 7 KO\u2019s gutted out a tough six-round unanimous decision win over a very competitive Eric George, 4-13. Both fighters landed cleanly throughout the fight, but the Russian prospect was able to land the bigger shots.<\/p>\n<p>In a mild upset, Henry Beckford, 4-5, 1 KO surprised previously unbeaten Dorell Van Horn JR, 9-1, 6 KO\u2019s by scoring a third round knockdown (courtesy of a straight left hand) and earned a four-round unanimous decision.<\/p>\n<p>Featherweight prospect Glenn Dezurn, 7-0, 5 KO\u2019s knocked out Aaron Hollis, 3-3, 2 KO\u2019s, in the opening seconds of the third round with a crushing overhand right to the head.<\/p>\n<p>Middleweight prospect Saadiq Muhammad, 4-0, easily won a four-round unanimous decision over Dave Tomaso,1-3, in front of his home city of Rochester. Muhammad was able to send Tomaso to the floor in the second round with a right uppercut.<\/p>\n<p>In the opening fight on the card, super featherweight Vincent Denierio won his professional debut by scoring a third-round TKO over Saquan Felton, who was also making his pro debut.
