Plant scored a knockdown in the fourth round (via left hook) and staggered De Angel again in the sixth, but the Tennessean was unable to finish off his rugged opponent. \u201cSweet Hands\u201d utilized an effective jab to set up his power punches, and displayed an elusive defense to control the fight from the first to last round. Plant was able to land 37.6% (76\/202) of his power punches, compared to De Angel only landing 13.6% (57\/418) of his total punches.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>In the co-event, and most competitive fight of the night, welterweight prospect David \u201cDay-Day\u201d Grayton, 15-1, 11 KO\u2019s, handed his former sparring partner Kareem \u201cKeemo\u201d Martin, 8-1-1, 3 KO\u2019s his first loss by way of an eighth- round TKO. Grayton scored a knockdown in the opening seconds of the eighth round, and then followed up with a barrage of punches that forced the referee to save a badly staggered Martin from making a second trip to the canvas. Fight was scheduled for eight rounds between the two prospects from Washington D.C.<\/p>\n<p>In a clash of unbeaten light heavyweight prospects, Carlos Gongora, 6-0, 5 KO\u2019s, knocked out Ronald Mixon, 7-1,6 KO\u2019s, in the first round with a straight left hand to the head. Fight was scheduled for eight rounds.<\/p>\n<p>In a battle of heavyweight prospects, Wesley Triplett, 4-1,2 KO\u2019s, scored a third round stoppage victory over Eric Newell, 8-4-3, 5 KO\u2019s when the referee waved off the fight after the ringside doctor examined Newell\u2019s broken jaw. The end came at twenty-seven seconds into the third round, when Triplett landed a massive uppercut that badly hurt the hometown fighter, which led to the stoppage. Fight was scheduled for six rounds.<\/p>\n<p>Lightweight prospect Carlos Rosario, 5-1, 3 KO\u2019s waited until there was only two seconds left in the sixth and final round before sending his opponent Cesar Garcia,11-21-1, 5 KO\u2019s to canvas, and scoring the knockout win after the final bell. Garcia was counted out at 3:08 mark of the sixth round.<\/p>\n<p>Welterweight prospect Daquan Johnson, 2-0, 2KO\u2019s easily dispatched Stephan Bass, 1-3, in the second round by TKO.
