Tensions continue to rise ahead of the Swedish super fight between Mikaela Laur\u00e9n (27-3, 12 KOs) and Klara Svensson (16-1, 5 KOs) on Saturday night in Stockholm where the bitter rivals will battle it out for the interim WBC Female World Welterweight title and a chance to face female pound-for-pound number one Cecilia Br\u00e6khus.<\/p>\n

At today\u2019s final pre-fight press conference, Laur\u00e9n was left outraged when it was announced there will be a coin toss tomorrow to decide who enters the ring second. \u2018\u2019It\u2019s a scandal,\u2019\u2019 she said. \u2018\u2019I\u2019m a former five-time World Champion, and we\u2019re fighting in my hometown. It shouldn\u2019t even be up for discussion.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n

Svensson, meanwhile, sensing her opponent\u2019s discomfort, welcomed the news. \u2018\u2019I think a coin toss will be fun,\u2019\u2019 she said. \u2018\u2019Although for me, it\u2019s more important who is left standing in the ring last, rather than who enters it first.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n

The \u2018Swedish Princess\u2019 went on to say that she expects their fight to live up to the hype and warned Laur\u00e9n to prepare for her toughest career challenge.<\/p>\n

\u2018\u2019Forget about all the drama and Mikaela\u2019s silly games,\u2019\u2019 she said. \u2018\u2019I want this to be a fight that people remember. It\u2019s a huge occasion for Swedish boxing and I\u2019m sure it\u2019s going to be a great night for the fans.<\/p>\n

”I\u2019ve been training non-stop since May, and I couldn\u2019t be better prepared. Mikaela had better be ready for the fight of her life.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n

When asked for his prediction, promoter Nisse Sauerland said it was impossible to pick a winner, and instead focused on the magnitude of the match-up.<\/p>\n

\u2018\u2019It\u2019s a real 50-50 fight,\u2019\u2019 said Sauerland. \u2018\u2019And for me, it\u2019s impossible to tell what is going to happen on Saturday night. That\u2019s what makes this fight so interesting.<\/p>\n

”It\u2019s going to be the biggest fight between two Swedes since Paolo Roberto fought Armand Kranjc, and this time it\u2019s happening at home!\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n

As the press conference drew to a close, Laur\u00e9n refused to do the customary face-to-face photographs: \u2018\u2019I don\u2019t want to be anywhere near her, we can save that for the weigh-in.\u2019\u2019 And instead, chose to end proceedings by giving Svensson a cake with the numbers \u201916-2\u2019, alluding to the Malm\u00f6 boxer\u2019s record should she lose on Saturday night.<\/p>\n

\u2018\u2019I was going to give this to you after the fight,\u2019\u2019 said Laur\u00e9n. \u2018\u2019But I know you need to gain some weight so I thought I would give it to you now!”<\/p>\n

Svensson will be moving up a weight class to meet Laur\u00e9n, the WBC’s World Super Welterweight Champion Emeritus, who is coming down a division for this fight.<\/p>\n
