<\/a>By Tyler \u201cThe Miracle Man\u201d White<\/strong><\/p>\nUnfortunately, boxing fans are left feeling a little deflated, after the news that Anthony Joshua will be taking on his mandatory challenger – Alexander Povetkin – as opposed to his American nemesis and WBC World Champion, Deontay Wilder.<\/p>\n
We, as fans, have reason to be disappointed too, as the fight with Povetkin is not a fight that the public want to see, as he is very unlikely to cause AJ any real problems.<\/p>\n
After all, the short and stocky Russian was lucky to get past David Price when they met in the squared circle earlier this year. If it wasn\u2019t for Price\u2019s notoriously sensitive chin, then Povetkin would\u2019ve most likely been beaten by the Liverpudlian giant.<\/p>\n
With this in mind, I think that it should be a relatively easy night for Joshua, when he takes on the former WBA Heavyweight Champion. Joshua\u2019s youth, as well as sheer size and power advantage, will surely be enough to overwhelm the ageing Povetkin\u2026<\/p>\n
In the mean time, we\u2019re left with a war of words between Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua\u2019s promoter – Eddie Hearn. Whilst it is entertaining to a certain extent, in reality, we\u2019d much rather have a fight between the two heavyweight king pins.<\/p>\n
All of this \u201ctwitter beef\u201d and all the blame games are getting both boring and annoying now too. Personally, I think alot of this stuff on social media just ends up putting the fans off of some potentially huge fights.<\/p>\n
Boxing is a business, there\u2019s no doubt about that, but the fans deserve the big fights and we also deserve to know the truth. We deserve to know the real reasons why the fight hasn\u2019t been made and we also deserve to know when or even if the fight between AJ and Wilder is going to happen at all\u2026<\/p>\n
At the end of the day, we are the one\u2019s paying good money to see these fights happen. So lets hope we get to see this heavyweight unification fight sooner, rather than later and that it doesn\u2019t end up taking years to come to fruition.<\/p>\n
