One part of me says that the fight will go down near enough the same in terms of the pace and the fighter\u2019s strategies. Whilst a larger chunk of me thinks that this fight will play out completely differently.<\/p>\n
It goes without saying that each fighter will be hard at work, making specific adjustments throughout their training camps, in order to help them get the win. But for me there\u2019s something that really stands out\u2026<\/p>\n
My gut feeling leads me to think that with all of this controversy surrounding Canelo and clenbuterol, that it is him that\u2019s going to have to make the big changes and adapt the most.<\/p>\n
This is the defining factor that pushes me to think we will see a drastically different outcome!<\/p>\n
I say this because Canelo looks a lot smaller to me at the moment, and in my opinion, his physique has changed dramatically over the past 12-18 months.<\/p>\n
In the lead up to the first fight with Golovkin, Canelo Alvarez looked huge. His muscles were bulging out of his t-shirts and he looked like a red-headed version of the Hulk.<\/p>\n
Whereas now, he looks almost dwarfed in his clothes, with his t-shirts flapping around in the places where his bulk used to be.<\/p>\n
Although muscles don\u2019t mean too much when it comes to boxing, it\u2019s more about a person\u2019s ability to fight\u2026<\/p>\n
The reason it\u2019s relevant though is that when you\u2019re in peak physical condition like Canelo was in 2017 and you still can\u2019t shake \u201cGGG\u201d\u201d, then I find it very hard to believe that Canelo could hurt him in this next fight.<\/p>\n
Particularly whilst he looks a little drained, as well as half the size he was the last time the 2 fighters met.<\/p>\n
If this is the case and Canelo isn\u2019t as strong, fit or powerful as he was during their first fight, then the win will simply be, just a matter of time for Golovkin.<\/p>\n
\u201cGGG\u2019s\u201d consistent pressure was hard enough for Canelo to deal with last time; now this time around with Canelo not being \u201cchemically enhanced\u201d, the pace will surely catch up with the Mexican a lot quicker than it did before.<\/p>\n
This, in combination with some tactical adjustments from \u201cGGG\u201d and his team, means that Canelo will be forced to fight a way that he probably doesn\u2019t want to and if he decides to go toe-to-toe with Golovkin instead, then whilst he has the edge in speed, \u201cGGG\u201d will surely emerge victorious with the advantage in raw power.<\/p>\n
Whatever happens, the hype for this fight is due to ramp up over the coming weeks and we can all hope for another exciting contest with – hopefully this time – a decisive conclusion.<\/p>\n
