<\/a>By Tyler \u201cThe Miracle Man\u201d White<\/strong><\/p>\nUpon his appearance on the Joe Rogan podcast, Tyson Fury may have very well won himself a lot more fans and ticket\/PPV sales a-like for when he meets Deontay Wilder on December 1st.<\/p>\n
During his interview with Rogan, \u201cThe Gypsy King\u201d, went into tremendous detail about his battles with mental health, depression, addiction and he also recalls a time that he very almost took his own life.<\/p>\n
Fury mentions about how he was driving his Ferrari at 190mph and seriously considered driving it into a concrete bridge. <\/p>\n
Fury himself admits that the supercar would\u2019ve been crushed like a can of coca cola but it was \u201ca voice\u201d inside his head that stopped him from following through with this fatal form of self-sabotage.<\/p>\n
Although far from the perfect fighter, in terms of an example and role model – what with past accusations of homophobic and sexist comments – Fury has done himself a favor in this interview by being so open and honest about his life thus far.<\/p>\n
Fury talks about the highs and lows of being a fighter, winning World titles and simultaneously losing his love for the sport, despite the career-defining victory over a overwhelmed and puzzled Wladimir Klitschko.<\/p>\n
The one thing that struck me in his interview, was how much he has changed since that huge win in Germany.<\/p>\n
Clearly, Fury went into a dark and downward spiral for a long time, suffering with both drug and alcohol addiction, however, he seems to have fully reformed and has discovered a formula for his own happiness, health and state of mind.<\/p>\n
For any aspiring fighter, or for any person in life in fact, Fury gives some useful advice when it comes to taking control of your mental health – something which he says he overcame without the help of medication.<\/p>\n
The advice was as simple as this: set yourself some goals and exercise\u2026<\/p>\n
The sheer simplicity of this advice can be quite easily overlooked, however, it\u2019s clearly worked for \u201cThe Gypsy King\u201d and if it works for him, then why can\u2019t it work for others in a similar position, struggling with depression, addiction or other mental health problems.<\/p>\n
Whether you love him or hate him, Tyson Fury is trying to make a positive change. Not only in his own life and career, but a change that will help other people too!<\/p>\n
Listening to this man speak so openly and honestly about his struggles is refreshing to hear and it signifies that although he\u2019s an elite fighter, he too is an ordinary person and a man that struggles with his own demons.<\/p>\n
Nobody is invincible after all and this case exemplifies that\u2026<\/p>\n
Even a former lineal heavyweight boxing champion can be defeated by the inner workings of his mind, but what\u2019s important is that he has come back from it and he\u2019s back on track.<\/p>\n
