{"id":76963,"date":"2018-12-17T19:23:14","date_gmt":"2018-12-18T00:23:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ringsidereport.com\/?p=76963"},"modified":"2018-12-17T19:26:43","modified_gmt":"2018-12-18T00:26:43","slug":"doctor-curmudgeon-another-one-bites-the-dust","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ringsidereport.com\/?p=76963","title":{"rendered":"Doctor Curmudgeon\u00ae: &#8220;Another One Bites The Dust&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\">[AdSense-A]<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/ringsidereport.com\/?p=76963\" rel=\"http:\/\/ringsidereport.com\/?p=76963\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-75425 size-medium\" style=\"margin-right: 10px;\" src=\"http:\/\/ringsidereport.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/ubm-photo-201x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a>By Diane Batshaw Eisman, MD FAAFP<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>First there were PAs, physicians assistants and they wanted to see patients and treat them<\/p>\n<p>And nurse practitioners who feel qualified to do the same<\/p>\n<p>And there are chiropractors who believe they can care for patients just as well as MDs and DOS<\/p>\n<p>And what about those drug store clinics with pharmacists given care?<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>And now, it is beginning to be noticed that these individuals lack the training, critical thinking and skills; they lack the competence of real physicians, and they are beginning to be sued for malpractice.<\/p>\n<p>Yes&#8230; another one bit the dust.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Wz_DNrKVrQ8\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>So what was left?<\/p>\n<p>Just call a congressman<\/p>\n<p>FRENZIED PARENT: &#8220;Is this Representative Schmeggies&#8217;s office?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>AIDE WHO MAY ACTUALLY ANSWER THE PHONE: &#8220;Yes it is, madam and we are always happy to be of service.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>PARENT:&#8217; &#8220;My baby has a temp of 105, is vomiting and looks awful.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>AIDE: &#8220;You need to call your pediatrician.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>PARENT: &#8220;But with all the healthcare stuff, all the pediatricians have left town.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>AIDE: &#8220;Then go to your local urgent care center&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>PARENT: &#8220;It closed down because all the physicians\u2019 assistants and nurse practitioners got sued and stopped practicing.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>AIDE: &#8220;Well, take your child to the emergency room.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>PARENT: &#8220;I did that.
