Two and half years later he is still making the same promises however is failing to deliver leaving everybody frustrated.

There isn’t a Heavyweight out there who has ability that Fury hasn’t called out or bad-mouthed however after his recent lackluster performance against the awful Luiz Nascimento he decided to take a pop at all of the top Heavyweights in Britain and most notably Dereck Chisora calling him Dereck “no good” Chisora and claiming he will flatten him! Ridiculous comments from Fury who has become the laughing stock of the Division and it did not take Chisora long to reply to Fury’s outlandish comments.

Speaking to The Telegraph newspaper here is a small section of what he had to say:

“…No one is fooled by wins over people like Nascimento or having the desire to fight the likes of Botha, such fights show a lack of respect for the sport and for a former world champion.

“Fury is full of hot air and he shouldn’t allow his promoter to make stupid statements on his behalf. Let’s face it, if he didn’t have that name no one would have taken any notice of him based on his achievements. He reminds me of Jess Harding another six-foot plus who traded on being a traveler.

“Like Harding, Fury is all boots and braces but has no substance and what happened to him against Gary Mason will happen to Fury as well when we do meet.

“My message to Tyson Fury is loud and clear, stop whining, talking rubbish and getting your promoter to do your dirty work, wait your chance like a man. Championships are won and lost, so stop trying to steal it underhandedly – I might be Del Boy, but Fury is just a fool with a horse, a total Plonker!”

You have to love and respect Dereck Chisora for his open and not afraid to say it how it is comments and this could not be truer here. He simply sums it up and Fury should pay real attention to it.

It appears the reason why Tyson Fury is annoyed with Dereck Chisora is due to the fact that Chisora is the British Heavyweight champion and Fury is mandatory to fight for the bout.

Chisora takes on Wladimir Klitschko in April for the World Titles and therefore Fury believes he should have had an opportunity to face Chisora for the British by now. Of course, it is complete garbage, and anybody that follows the British scene will be well aware that Chisora took on Sam Sexton just last year in September to defend the Title and a defense has not been issued until March at the very earliest leaving Fury and his comments in no mans land! Obviously he is the mandatory and deserves his opportunity when it arises (and lets face it, it’s the one we are all waiting for ,finally seeing Fury in the ring with somebody who can Box!) but he can’t expect Chisora to prioritize a British Title fight over a World Title epic…its ludicrous!

The harsh reality is nobody will respect Fury for beating up unknown fighters and having a record full of them and what makes it worse is when they try and fill our minds with reasons why the opponent is credible. It really is pathetic and it is time that Fury and Hennessy stopped talking the nonsense and started delivering inside the ring.

Like many others in Fury’s last fight I was hoping that Nascimento would have something about his game, enough to catch Tyson Fury cleanly so we could learn a thing or two about his ability to take shots. The truth is his opponent was unbelievably limited and it quickly became apparent that he was out of his depth. The knockout punch was stylish but had he not of won by KO the critics would have been even more brutal with him.

Currently, Tyson Fury is overweight, overhyped and completely overrated and until he puts some real miles in at the gym and gets into shape and starts improving his weaknesses this will not change. I have said it before but if Fury was a few inches shorter he would have certainly had a couple of losses on his record and to be honest probably wouldn’t have a future in the sport. The fact is he is 6’9 and if he can finally learn to use it as an advantage in the ring we may see a significant progression.

As well as taking a cheap shot at “Del Boy” Chisora he also took a pop at a couple of other big names here in the UK. David “No Chin” Price and Tom “Wooden” Dallas was how Mr. Fury labelled them live on television after the Nascimento fight and it is sure to spark a feud from both men, especially David Price. I ran an article last week on those two (including Richard Towers, another up and comer here in the UK) and you will know from that-that David Price is the man that put Tyson Fury down as an amateur and sparring. According to Fury Price isn’t ready for him however Price and his team rubbished this claiming they would take him at a heartbeat. Let’s get it right though, Fury claims that there isn’t a single British Heavyweight that will face him currently… make your own mind up on that one!

Every time I write about Tyson Fury I hope that there is something positive to report on, I really do. I want to see the big guy showing that he does have power, I want to see him coming in at a decent weight and in shape and I want to see him taking on credible opponents to back up his ridiculous claims but unfortunately it seems that for a long time now he has been on the same level and has made zero progression and if anything, a backward step.

Good luck to Dereck Chisora for his camp in preparing for Wladimir Klitschko, a true Heavyweight Boxer who is looking to back up his claims.

Advertise Now On RSR

Purchase Boxing Interviews Of A Lifetime

Pre-Order the Horror Thriller FAMILY SECRET Now!

By Damien Norman Tyson Fury is a name that you have all become very familiar with… just not for the right reasons!
