Firat Arslan Returns to the Ring July 15th

Former WBA cruiserweight champion Firat Arslan will try to get in line for another world title shot when he returns to action on July 15th in his home base in Göppingen, Germany (close to Stuttgart). Arslan will also try to avenge one of his only 5 career losses (30 wins, 1 draw) when he faces Czech tough guy Lubos Suda (23-5-1) who had beaten the German southpaw in a close fight in December 2003 in Prague. “I know very well that Suda is a strong opponent and that I have to be at my best to beat him,” says Arslan. “I think it’s only fair that he is coming to my backyard now. I have fought him in Prague, now he is coming to Germany. I want to prove that I am better than him and that I still got what it takes to become world champion again.” The 40-year-old certainly has no time to waste but will have to take the fast track if he wants to fight for a major title again. Tickets for the show in Göppingen are on sale on www.ticketonline.com. Eurosport will broadcast live on July 15th at 9.00pm (CET).
