Baseball Fan DIES CATCHING BALL – THE SHOCKING STORY

By Geno McGahee

A fan at a Texas Rangers home game yesterday fell to his death in an attempt to catch a ball. The victim was there with his young son, and fell over the rail, head first, falling to his death. Thankfully, his son was not injured, but he, along with the security close to the scene and fans witnessed the death first hand.

The accident occurred during the second inning of the Rangers versus Oakland A’s game. Conor Jackson of the A’s hit a foul ball near the left field. The outfielder Josh Hamilton retrieved the ball and tossed it into the stands.

Team President Nolan Ryan noted that “Josh is very distraught over this. We’re very heavy-hearted about this and our thoughts and prayers go out to the family.”

It was a tragic accident. RSR sends our condolences to the family of the deceased.
