Chael Sonnen: UFC Fighting Words SHAKES MMA WORLD

By Sean Farrell

Chael Sonnen, the name makes me sick just hearing it much like John Cena, Lebron James, and Chad Ochocinco but for some reason he speaks and people want to hear what this guy has to say so here we go.

At the UFC 135 press conference, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson who is set to face Jon Jones for the UFC Light heavyweight title responded to Chael Sonnen’s recent video where he said that fights in the HISTORIC! PRIDE Fighting Championships were fixed, and that some of the sport of MMA’s legends from the organization like Fedor Emelianenko and Wanderlei Silva “sucked.”

“There’s something wrong with him,” said Jackson “You know when you when someone’s slow and you feel bad for them? If he concentrated on his own game rather than talking about everyone he might be winning his fights.”

The two fighters almost crossed earlier this year, when Thiago Silva was forced out of his planned bout with Jackson at UFC 130. Sonnen was first in line begging to step in on Silva’s behalf. Matt Hamill was eventually chosen to fill in for Silva, and Rampage went on to win by decision after cruising to an easy win over Hamill. Sonnen, who hasn’t fought since he tested positive for PEDs last year was willing to step up to fight one of the top contenders in a heavier weight class. Despite almost having faced Sonnen, Jackson contends that he doesn’t even know who he is.

“I don’t really know who Chael Sonnen is. I actually don’t even know what he looks like, I really don’t. He could come up and talk to me and I would just think he was a fan or something. Straight up.”

I agree with Jackson 100%, I don’t give Chael Sonnen the light of day either but people like his trash talk and I like the people so that is the latest in the Chael “I Need to Stay Important” Sonnen soap opera.

Sonnen next faces Brian Stann at UFC 136 in Houston, Texas on October 8th, 2011. Sonnen may be in for a rude awakening however, as the “All American” Brian Stann has been dominating everyone put in front of him winning five of his last six bouts with three early stoppages in his last three outings.
