Chris Leben SUSPENDED for 1 Year – UFC News

By Sean Farrell

Chris Leben is back in hot water, this time it cost him a valuable year of his career. Due to testing positive for the prescription painkillers Oxycodone and Oxymorphone, the UFC has suspended Chris Leben. The test was conducted after Leben’s UFC 138 main-event loss to Mark Munuz earlier this month, this test was standard procedure and the results are unfortunate.

This has been Leben’s second suspension after a failed drug test, and this is the second time the UFC had to issue this punishment. He also tested positive in 2008 for the banned steroid Stanozolol.

UFC President Dana White stated “I like Chris, and I want him to do well, but based on his actions, he’s been suspended for one year, If he needs professional help, we are going to be there for him. We want to see him succeed not only in the Octagon but in his personal life.”

I am a fan of Leben, but I honestly hope he can straighten his act up and get back on track inside the Octagon.

All other 19 fighters from UFC 138 passed their drug tests.
