Floyd Mayweather JR Vs Miguel Cotto: MAJOR BOXING UPDATE

By Geno McGahee

Floyd Mayweather, JR., 42-0, 26 KO’s, will take on Miguel Cotto, 37-2, 30 KO’s, on May 5th, leaving those that were expecting a Pacquiao showdown disappointed again. Miguel Cotto, as good as he is, does not present the challenge that will rattle Floyd. It promises to be a one-sided dance all the way to the scorecards.

Knowing that the public isn’t totally stupid, the promoters have put together an interesting match as a supporting bout between Saul Alvarez, 39-0, 29 KO’s, and former multiple division champion, Shane Mosley, 46-7-1, 39 KO’s.

Mosley is 40 years old and has a recent record of 2-3-1, 2 KO’s, but he is as tough as a boxer gets and every great fighter has one great fight left in him. Mosley had better pray that it shows up because if it doesn’t, he loses by stoppage for the first time in his career. Whatever the case, two 5s may equal a 10, and the PPV card may be worth a rent after all.
