Tua was the aggressor, but was unable to really mount any type of attack throughout the bout in a fight that saw Tua looking every bit of his 37 years old by running out of steam and was deducted a point for throwing Barrett to the canvas in the twelfth round by referee Randy Neumann. Shortly after, Barrett dropped Tua for the first time in his career before the bell rang. In the end the judges saw it 113-113, 113-113 and 115-111 for Tua.
