Alana Stewart Wins Best Supporting Actress at Worldfest 2011

Los Angeles, CA – Actress Alana Stewart (www.AlanaStewart.com) was named Best Supporting Actress for her role in the film Delivered, which had its world premiere at the 44th Annual WorldFest-Houston Independent International Film Festival in Houston, Texas on Saturday, April 16. In addition, the gifted duo of actor/director Michael Madison and producer Linda Nelson from Nelson Madison Films won the Special Jury Award for Delivered.

“I am so appreciative of this tremendous honor,” said Stewart. “To be recognized for my work on a film that was truly a labor of love is very rewarding. The cast and crew were superlative and strove to bring the very best out of each other’s performance. I was inspired to be amongst such a talented ensemble.”

Stewart is brilliant in the role of Marilyn, a widowed mother to a wounded Iraqi war veteran, Shane Green, portrayed by talented actor Michael Madison. When Green returns home from Iraq, he finds his mother (Stewart) working two jobs just to make ends meet and discovers she has just lost her house to foreclosure. In an effort to get his mother’s house back, Green gets caught-up in a real life-or-death crime thriller making for an exciting plot from start to finish.

The on-screen relationship between Madison and Stewart is riveting and drawing early rave reviews from critics. In the spirit of films like Bullitt, Vanishing Point, and True Romance, this film is packed with numerous twists and turns and some truly unforgettable screen performances.

Delivered is slated for a number of film festivals throughout the upcoming spring and summer months.

About Alana Stewart
Alana Stewart is an actress, host, author and spokesperson. A native Texan, Stewart began her career as a Ford model in New York City. She has numerous acting credits to her name including roles on such popular television series as The Love Boat, Fantasy Island, The Bionic Woman, Hart to Hart, The Fall Guy and many other classics.

Alana hosted the popular talk show The George and Alana Show with ex-husband George Hamilton, and appeared on the ABC hit reality show I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here. After the release ofFarrah’s Story, Alana released the New York Times bestseller, My Journey with Farrah. Alana currently serves as president of The Farrah Fawcett Foundation (www.thefarrahfawcettfoundation.org) that funds cancer research and supports those fighting cancer.

Alana recently received the prestigious Genii Award from the American Women in Radio and Television for excellence in documentary filmmaking forFarrah’s Story. In April of 2011, Alana received The John Wayne Cancer Center’s ‘True Grit’ Award at the 26th Annual Odyssey Ball. The only other recipients have been Nancy Reagan, Larry King and Bonnie Hunt.
