The BattleGrounds MMA fight originally scheduled for June 27 has been moved to Friday, October 3. Tickets for the June 27 fight will be honored at the BOK Center October 3.
*Just Announced* – WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross and recently retired UFC superstar Chael Sonnen are teaming up as the BattleGrounds MMA ‘O.N.E.’ commentary team.
BattleGrounds MMA is proud to announce BattleGrounds O.N.E. (One Night Elimination), an 8 Fighter, 1 Night, 1 Champion Tournament series. This series will feature welterweight (170lb) fighters who will be carefully selected from submissions across the world, where $50,000 will go to the victor. In addition to the O.N.E. Tournament, BattleGrounds includes a number of super fights in the middleweight and lightweight divisions that will deliver amazing action between the tournament bouts.
Slated for action in the single-elimination tournament are submission ace Cody “AK Kid” McKenzie (15-4); two-time, one-night tournament winner Brock Larson (37-8); hard-hitting brawler Luigi “The Italian Tank” Fioravanti (24-11); Urijah Faber protégé David “Bulletproof” Mitchell (14-4); Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu expert Roan “Jucao” Carneiro (16-9); Trey “That Just Happened?” Houston (11-2); Jesse “JT Money” Tayor (27-10); and Joe Ray (11-3).*
Dennis “Superman” Hallman and Chris Honeycutt, originally slated for action in the tournament will be replaced by two competitors to be announced soon. Additional bouts for the evening, as well as a preliminary bout card, will also be announced soon.
BattleGrounds MMA ‘O.N.E.’ will be distributed at a price point of $19.95 in the United States and Canada by Integrated Sports Media for live viewing, beginning at 10 p.m. EST/7 p.m. PST on October 3 on both cable and satellite pay-per-view carriers iN DEMAND, DirecTV, DISH and Avail-TVN in the United States and Bell TV in Canada. A pre-show will begin at 9 p.m. EST/6 p.m. PST.
BattleGrounds MMA is led by 3-time Olympian, Olympic Gold Medalist and Oklahoma State wrestling phenom, Kenny Monday.
