What Will the Effect Be to the Entire Sport of Boxing If Manny Pacquiao Loses to Antonio Margarito?

Boxing headlines have been consumed by the news that multi-division champion Manny Pacquiao is sick with what appears to be a cold possibly picked up by the many visitors that come to his training camp and watch him train. Team Pacquiao is calling for him to return to the famed Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles, CA. Do you think that maybe this is a sign that Pacquiao made the wrong move by being dictated by dollars vice showing principal that he has shown in the past and would have really resonated in a great way throughout the Boxing world by turning this fight down?
This fight is the worst thing that can happen to our beloved sport of Boxing. A known cheater in “Hands of Plaster” Antonio Margarito gets rewarded with the biggest payday of his career for cheating. Some fans now doubt Pacquiao can actually win. It is highly unlikely, but I can tell you this without any doubt, if “Hands of Plaster” does win, look at the excuses that the Groupie Journalists will have on November 14th on why Manny lost!
And with the big “If”, how does a Margarito win effect the entire sport of Boxing? Only in a negative light with headlines reading, “Cheater Wins!” Or “Former Suspended Fighter Who Cheated Wins.” ESPN will have Brian “No need to cite a source” Kenny and Dan “Only my word means anything in Boxing” Rafael screaming negative headlines and only the “Voice of Reason” Teddy Atlas, calling this what it is a farce. But the worst part will be that press groups who normally wouldn’t give Boxing the time of day, will cover this travesty with tons of negative headlines that the general population of folks who don’t watch the sport will only hear about the underbelly side of it.
You will recall that when Floyd Mayweather, JR. had his PR Team lodge accusations about Manny taking steroids, the entire media jumped on it like an extremely overweight Groupie Journalist to a free press luncheon buffet.
Boxing for years, has not been on network TV and with fights like this one, you can see why. Bob Arum may have outdone Don King at his worst and in fact, he makes Don King look like a true “King” because I cannot recall a fight going down like this on King’s watch!
It’s amazing that Arum condemned another cheater who loaded his gloves in Luis Resto, but when it comes to Antonio Margocheato, as Greg Leon of Boxing Talk named him, he gets a pass. News Flash Bobby…. You can dress up a turd, but in the end, it’s still a turd. All the charity events, all the nice guy articles don’t take away from the fact, that he cheated and damaged Miguel Cotto where he will never be the same fighter again. How about if we let Margocheato load his gloves and punch you several times in the grapes? Work those grapes! There you go, hit them again. How does that feel Bobby? Pretty painful huh? Tough shit! Just think how it felt to a Class Act like Miguel Cotto who never cheated, and brings nothing, but Class to the sport of Boxing.
RSR Readers you have our pledge that we will not cover this fight nor report any results to add to an outright travesty to a sport that I have loved now for 35 years! Miguel Cotto this is for you and any other fighter that no doubt, Margocheater loaded his gloves against!
