Manny Pacquiao Vs Shane Mosley: It's Showtime
This report is fully dedicated to the main event in Vegas between Pacquiao vs. Mosley. It’s been on everyone’s lips and minds for months, the arrival of “Sugar” Shane Mosley to be defeated and sent to the Hall of Fame or to reap the rewards of Big Bear training by Brother Naazim Richardson ?
Only on Saturday night in Vegas it will be decided, the revelations are unknown. One thing that is known to all of us is the artful skill of Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao.
There was weeks of anticipation on whether Manny Pacquiao was going to fight Floyd Mayweather, JR., and when they finally pulled out, Mosley out of the bag, there was lots of criticism, jokes and seriousness which finally settled this bout. Showtime Boxing grappled the event over HBO and both camps accepted.
Thursday’s last press conference started off with Richardson saying that Mosley is a legend in his own right and was great to see his family supporting him all the way and that he really worked hard in the Big Bear training camp. Might I add at this point that Richardson is a real humble man with a lot of experience.
Freddie Roach said “This is not going to be an easy fight, let’s all get ready and I had to slow down Manny and all he wanted to do was to work work work and this is the best training camp I’ve ever seen and everyone’s really worked hard”.
Bob Arum said “I can count on Mosley and Manny to make this a historic fight and Mosley has real fire in his belly”.
Now when Sugar Shane spoke it did bring a little bit of laughter from the press, he said: “This is going to be a great fight and we’re bothwarriors, all the tickets are sold out and it’s going to be a BLOCKBUSTER on P.P.V and i’m really happy”.
He was in a chirpy mood and he even thanked Floyd Mayweather, JR., for not taking the fight in order for him to get it!
Manny said that this fight was good for the kids as there was no trash talk. He also explained that he used to fight just to eat and “now the biggest fight of all for me is to end the poverty in the Philippines. I’m going to be wearing yellow gloves for this fight and please everyone join me in wearing yellow.” He sang a song after and he will be singing in his beach party after the fight.
At the weigh in, both boxers looked in amazing shape and form, Manny Pacquiao weighing in at 145 pounds and Shane Mosley at 147 pounds…they both looked ripped!
Now to the analysis…I mean we’re not too sure how Mosley is going to fare and we’re going to be asking just how great is Pacquiao? We can’t deny he is a great boxer and what is great about him shall always remain great.
Pacquiao has matured well under Roach and his footwork has become more flighty and fancy, superb in fact and his accuracy can’t be measured. All I can say is that he’s dead on target with his jabs and counterpunches.
In the early days Morales did leave him out-boxed and with this defeat he completely changed his outlook and style after this loss, his record stands at 52 wins with 38 of them being knock outs and 3 losses and Mosley’s record stands at a legendary 46 wins 49 knock outs and 6 losses.
Last however not least, I’ve got an insider coming from Middleweight boxer Rashad Holloway. He’s been a guest on the Banging Sports Show some months back and he said today that they “are both warriors” and he’s been in both camps and he says that “Manny will come out on top.” He stated to me: “it’s going to be a bitter sweet event”.
Finally Manny has had two sparring partners: Karim Mayfield and Shawn Porter.
Porter with 18 wins himself has two belts and has fought in the ABF division explained in his last sparring session with Manny that he went through 5 rounds with him and he gave him everything he had and in round 4, he got Manny on the ropes for almost a minute which is very long. This takes us back to the Antonio Margarito fight back in November.
I remember Margarito got Manny on the ropes a few times then and now facing Mosley, a bigger man just like Margarito, can he stop Mosley from hitting him as he is a hard puncher who fights with both hands?
It’s going to be unpredictable however I can see this fight going to 12 rounds, as they both have immense stamina and I say it will be a unanimous decision for Manny Pacman Pacquiao.
It’s Showtime baby at the MGM Vegas. Win or lose for Mosley, he reaches the Hall of Fame and his after party is set to be a shocker with guests like LL.Cool J, Kelly Rowland and even NBA star Cedric Ceballos!
