Manny Pacquiao Vs Shane Mosley PPV RESULTS

By Geno McGahee

Shane Mosley enters the ring to LL Cool J’s “Mama Said Knock You Out” and Manny Pacquiao just entered to AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck.” This is going to be good…stay tuned to RSR for results…

Survival seemed to be the name of the game for the 39 year old Shane Mosley, 46-7-1, 39 KO’s, as he moved and held and avoided the beast known as Manny Pacquiao, 53-3-2, 38 KO’s, losing a clear cut 12 round decision. Pacquiao landed a straight left hand in the 3rd round and dropped him, hurting him badly, and it was all over from there. Pacquiao continued to stalk and Mosley continued to move and avoid the incoming. The cards were 119-108, 120-108, and 120-107.

Mosley didn’t want to take the risk and just survived, and seemed happy to do so. He had the same problem that Joshua Clottey had. If you open up against Pacquiao, he unleashed incredible combinations. If you play nice and keep your hands up, you only get beat up a little… Pacquiao is the Mike Tyson of today, putting most of his opposition in defensive shells.

Mosley was credited with a knockdown but it was 100% push and that was the only round that he may have won, but he got beat the rest of the round. Great win for Pacquiao and now there is only one thing to say: BRING ON FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR!

Jorge Arce, 57-6-2, 44 KO’s, can only fight in one type of fight and that is an all-out war, which is what he had with Wilfredo Vazquez, JR., 20-1-1, 17 KO’s, from the opening round, Arce pushed forward and put the pressure on the younger fighter, landing some good punches, especially when Vazquez was against the ropes. Vazquez would surprise Arce on the way in with a left hook that dropped him, but he quickly arose and the war was back on.

As the rounds went on, Vazquez began timing the incoming lunges by Arce and becoming more effective. Arce’s punches seemed to have less and less impact as the rounds went on, but that would change in the 11th round when Vazquez was hurt and was very tired. Arce pressed onward and did some serious damage.

In the final round, Arce poured it on and landed some great shots, prompted Vazquez’s father to throw in the towel. Arce won it in the final round by TKO, but had it not been the love of a father stopping it, Vazquez would have probably survived. What a great fight! It is time for a rematch!

Pavlik-Lopez

Kelly Pavlik, 37-2, 32 KO’s, had a lot of ring rust as he stalked the game and skilled Alfonso Lopez, 21-1, 16 KO’s, by majority decision by scores of 95-95, 98-92 and 99-91. It was actually a very close fight, despite the large gap that two of the judges had on their cards. Pavlik seemed to find his groove late in the fight and had Lopez in a little bit of trouble, but he proved a tough customer.
